Do you think there is a benefit to the full thickness that outweighs the reduction in comfort? I played some EC-1000s this week at guitar center albeit at very low volumes on trash combo amps, and all I noticed was the full thickness was jabbing me in the ribs more. This probably wouldn't be noticeable if I was playing standing up. I'm asking because it seems most of the current LTD are full thickness and the finish/spec combo that I wanted only comes in the full thickness version.

I think the benefit in your situation is that the full thickness version comes with the finish/specs you want, I personally don't notice it being any more or less comfortable than a slimmer ec-1000 because i've always played full thickness les pauls

2:35 Agreed. LTD makes really comfortable necks that are fun to move around on.

No I did not, I personally don't think pickup height makes that much of a difference, I just try to not set it too close to the strings because if they're too close it'll cause my audio interface to clip even with barely any gain

I am precisely debating between these two guitars (the 1000t with the Tobacco finish) and in your comparison I like the sound of the 1000T better, it seems more versatile. Since I play standing up I don't like the weight of the Les Paul Standard so I’m happy to hear that the 1000T is lighter. If you don't mind, could you tell me how much those two guitars weigh?

I don't have a scale to properly weigh them but i'm gonna assume the 1000 is around 8 pounds and the 1000t is 7/8 pounds, thanks for watching!

I have that same setup ec1000t and even if I got a real Gibson r9 I don’t think I would get rid of the ltd. It’s just too versatile and it plays fantastic.

I have the EC-1001t CTM in white, Im used to playing lighter guitars but I dont mind the difference too much with this guitar. BUT ive been eyeing the EC-1000s fluence and im thinking wow it has fishman pickups and it might be more comfortable for me, but I hate the gloss black, it looks like a toy guitar in my opinion hahaha. So im stuck in between keeping my beuatiful white thick heavy 1001 ctm or selling it for the lighter and thinner EC-1000 that might be a better fit for me but color isnt too satisfying compared to the white. Whats your opinion on this?

I'd say maybe wait until you get to actually play a regular ec1000, I feel like once you do that you'll know what you should do
