    No it doesnt as other harvesters the spout is further to the other side of the machine, also the trailer man has the harder job so its best to make it easier for him to see, His trailers are also designed to be filled on the opposite side and are sitting far too far off would help if they got a bit closer, also to finish this filling nonsense what side does a combine spout fill from ;p

    What’s the reason of having the silage pits under roof

  • @barrett2288

    @barrett2288

    19 күн бұрын

    Less effluent to gather, sheds can store machinery/calves/fertiliser. Plastic sheeting is dry as are the tyres, much nicer to work with. Can store hay or straw on top of the silage. Pit face is dry through the winter. Silage that falls on the concrete can be scrapped up and fed and not mixed with a load of wet rot if there was no roof. You basically get twice the use out of your silage pits if they’re roofed.

    It's just opportunity cost. I spend my time rather with cows and milk three times per day than sitting on a tractor. The contractor can do all in one day. The contractor has all right machines and good people. If they break down I don't pay and they have backup. But off course every farm and farmer are different. I do pay alot but if I plan early for a cut I am first and they finished with my field before the rain starts.
