He is methodical and calculated and is never guessing that is why. BJJ, specially Brazilians are known for having so much like hidden or not shared information that makes it kind of "mystical" rather than logical. This is s used to extend the duration of student time as well as market themselves as special and make money, no hate but it is true. The Americans dumped all that and broke it down to a science as they say. Although the word science doesn't have the same credibility today due to abuse of the word the saying remains.

If there’s ever a Tyson/Cus D’amato type storyline movie done like a Hollywood thriller about a young kid bumping into a super genius philosopher & a top 5 mind ever in martial arts who seems like an evil genius, and he discreetly molds the young kid into an impeccable, unbreakable, world beating, absolute dominator of an entire martial arts discipline in a relatively short time, and the evil genius coach and his prodigy piss The world off because nobody can compete then the only reasonable person to play the role of Danaher, is Danaher himself.

I just wanted to thank you for posting this. I don't know much about BJJ, but I follow MMA. When I was younger my passion was music, I used to spend hours learning music. So I like to learn what makes anyone a 'specialist' in their field, tick and how they became the best they can be. I think this provides some insight from this video. i know there are books on this but i'd like to share my tips for anyone: 1. intense interest, obsession in the topic at hand to the point of shutting other things out. in our society we look at fame and fortune, but it sometimes takes 2 generations to get there i.e. Mr.Danaher --> Ryan. Abdulmanap --> Khabib. you can't care too much about materialism (as in, western capitalist materialism) when you have a vision. you have to put all energy towards the vision. how do you relax - no tv. i'd bet also not just because he didnt want one, maybe he could not afford it -- but this is really a guess. being a bjj expert back in the day probably did not pay much? 2. desire. desire or ambition to get better. 3. discipline. the first two breed dedication, but without discipline you are f*****. personally, i lacked discipline and too distracted by being connected to this internet shit. 4. humble. if you think you are the best, you stop learning. when i was 16 or 17 i thought i was really good, and i was really good compared to my peers. but i never hung out around those better than me. to get better, you need to surround yourself with the very best. im 35 now and trying to take off where i left, but its harder when you are older.

I think fun is the goal. But too many people are lost in the work. You dont get to have fun until you win a trophy beotch. So fun is the only goal. It takes years if not decades to achieve. After you get married and retire and finally have total independence. Then you can have fun. So fun is the goal. When your enemys are crushed and you hear the lamentation of their women. Then you can have some fun. Goal it out. S.m.a.r.t. Specific: Fun Measurable: Winning something important after an insane amount of work correctly being done. Attainable: something you like that is really hard to do. Like sparring when you probably will get hurt. Versus easy matchup. Relavent: doesn't matter if its important to others. Small like you finally did a kimura. Big like you won a competition or graduated with a profitable skill. Time bound: hurry up.

Charity Jesus. Charity is love that gives it always believes and hopes. James 3:16 "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work." Evil is to be uncaring and destructive in your relationship to others for selfish gain, or to be internally selfishly weak. Matthew 4:17 "For at about that time Jesus began to preach repent the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." Repent: to change your mind, to believe Jesus: (Yeshua, The Anointed King) and what he said, to ask for forgiveness. Note: When someone asks for forgiveness at each point in the past you'd done something wrong you wish you had done the right thing. God wanted to know who thought being a good person is important, and who will value a relationship with him and others through a concept called love; thereby, being a good tree whose fruit is good and of sweet savour to those in it's presence. Be Born Again John 3 Seek the Lord while he may be found, be diligent in doing and pray for wisdom. 1 Kings 3:5-12, Hebrews 11:1 + 6, Isaiah 55:6 For Jesus is the way to truth to life.

Felipe Pena is like an Anaconda and he already beat him twice. Galvoa has the attributes of a Silverback, Jaguar, Cobra and Honey Badger. Powerful, elusive and agile, technical and precise and relentless. Gordon Ryan is like a Bengal Tiger. So I'm not taking anything away from Gordon Ryan although he does alot of talking and comes off arrogant but he has to get through these guys first. These upcoming matches are for legacy. Gordon Ryan has his hands full. Pena and Galvoa are heavy weights and legends themselves. Stay tuned folks.

I'd love to agree with you. But he would absolutely walk through both Pena and Galvao right now. I'll give Pena his props against gordon his last fight esp after Lo's death. He made it look close for the first 25 mins or so. Once Gordon started turning up a bit of pressure, he started to fade. Galvao isn't active enough. He last competed against a One FC fighter and couldn't sub him. Fighter is legit, but Galvao is an ADCC legend.

@@6ix6ear Good decision by Gordon not agreeing to change the fight to 30 minutes because Pena's Jiu Jitsu was on point not letting Gordon walk through him like he does everybody else and threatening the leg attacks, creating space. Pena has an amazing gaurd game and inverting, very flexible and mobile. But yea I noticed that Pena started to fade after 30 minutes but man you never know. To bad it ended like that, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt due to what happened to his friend. But I think him and Gordon will see each other again and Pena has to do is work on strength and conditioning, get stronger for Gordon. I think Galvoa is stronger then Pena and the more athletic, better scrambler and wrestler. He's past his prime for sure but it will still be interesting.

But the guy is the No Gi goat and it's honestly not even close right now.

Gordon was pretty skinny up until a few years ago and was still training like a maniac. No one is training hard 12 hours a day though. Being in the gym is not the same as training. The bulk of time is spent drilling at low intensity and working on positions and different moves. Hard sparring is a small percentage of training time. It’s very doable if you are young, motivated and take care of your body.
