Yes Ray was always a Raven. We have had season tickets to the Ravens since 98 so I was at most of those games. He announced he was retiring and we were not favorites to make it far in the playoffs but they went in a miracle run and won 3 playoff games and the Superbowl to end Ray's career. 12 time Pro bowler which is the best at ur position in the league, 2 time Superbowl winner. I remember in 96 when we got the Ravens and had drafted Ray my dad and I were watching a preseason game and we saw a flash and a hit and my dad said that's the rookie from University of Miami, he looks good, I said he looks great. Hall of Famer and a all time great personality.

People can talk a lot about the strength, intimidation, and motivational qualities of Ray Lewis, but Ray was also one of the hardest working people in football. He would study tape religiously, and a lot of the time, he was able to exploit the top quarterbacks and play chess matches with them, and force them into making risky and difficult decisions. Him and Ed Reed were master tacticians that knew how to pull offenses apart. Definitely some of the best to ever play the game.

Yes there are typically captains. Usually separate offensive and defensive. every team may do it differently. Most the time on offense it’ll be the quarterback, defensively it can vary, linebacker, safety, d-lineman… but probably the most often it’s the middle linebacker, which was Ray Lewis’s position. Ray is probably the most dominant middle linebacker of all time, on the most dominant defense of all time. The Ravens defense of the early 2000s were all monsters.

@@DNReacts Just to expand on what Terry said, there's usually 5 or 6 captains on each team (typically 3 on offense and 3 on defense) and they'll almost always be a mix of positions among the captains. As an example, like Terry said, on offense, the quarterback is usually always a captain unless it's perhaps their first year in the league or first year on the team and then you'll typically have one offensive lineman captain and then one captain who is either a wide receiver, running back, or tight end

That defense... when the Jets played them late in the season, the Jets coach said at a press conference something like "yeah, I don't think we have much of a chance to win here. I've never seen a defense like this." And me and other Jets fans were like "well... yeah, but you don't SAY that!" Then watching them in the Superbowl, the way the Giants took the field, followed by the way the Ravens took the field, who were moving like "THERE IS TOO MUCH POWER FOR MY BODY TO CONTAIN" and there hadn't been a play yet and I was like "this game is over."

Ray is pretty widely considered the greatest middle linebacker to ever play. Probably one of the most intense players to ever play as well and a spectacular leader, was the absolute heart and soul of the Ravens for 17 years. He even topped off his long career with a miracle filled playoff run ending with a Super Bowl win, felt like it was straight out of a movie. Even the Super Bowl couldn’t help but to be extra dramatic with the two head coaches being brothers, a blackout occurring stopping play for a half an hour and the game coming down to a final pass to the end zone which ended controversially enough that it’s still argued about over a decade later.

My team are their mortal rivals...The Pittsburgh Steelers (won way more SuperBowls btw 😎). But yea #52 is legendary league wide. I remember when I stopped going out at bars watching us play the Ravens because of Ray Lewis. He broke one of our dudes arm (Rashard Mendenhall) opening play on Monday night football. The whole country was watching. Ruined my night. All games vs Ravens have been home ever since and this dude been retired 🤣. Never admitted that out loud.

They have captains for each side and offense/defense. Also subdivision captains like the defensive line captain or offensive line captain you’ll usually see them at the coin flip. The visiting captains usually call the heads or tails.

There are Captains. When you watch another mic'd up video or Highlight video look for a C on the jersey. They have stars under the C. There's offensive defensive and special teams Captains.

Cool thing about Ray Lewis... He played for arguably the greatest defense in NFL history.... and the greatest defense in college football history.

that video was kinda the right one. the main one has 1.8 million views. the version you watched seemed a bit shorter. looks like someone edited down. but it still did the job. Ray Lewis was a beast. played his whole career for the Ravens.

We do have captains, typically there will be one for Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. But also some teams will just have their 4 best leaders be captains. Nowadays they have a white C patch on the players right shoulder with stars to indicate how long they've been captains and after a certain point it will be gold if theyve been a captain for a long time to signify just how important of a leader they are. Bonus info they will also have patches for winning the Walter Payton Man of the Year award given to players for acts of community service in addition to excelling on the field.
