I always laughed at the "Level of Commitment" ad campaign because by the time it came out, I had already built almost everything they released in the West for Gundam Wing multiple times, two Perfect Grades, a few Master Grades, and the HGUC GP03 Dendrobium. It was my 100th kit, I even kept a journal that tabulated the time I spent: 16 hours over 30 days.

@@colonydropmodels 00F! Sorry you haven't gotten it yet but don't go breaking the bank, it has to come out again some day. I was lucky to get one directly from Hobby Link Japan when it first came out! I built it back when the only tools I had were a pair of clippers and an x-acto knife, and mostly used rapidoliner ink and very little paint. That was over 21 years ago, and I've made a lot of improvements to my techniques and painting skills. I'd give it a total makeover now if they made a Real Grade GP-03S.

Man i haven't seen some of these commercials in some time. I still have my Battle Damage Zaku 1. I remember trying to build my first Gunpla as fast as I could when i first gotten into Gundam.

@@colonydropmodels I worked on two Real Grades simultaniously (two Astray Red Frames for the purpose of making one into Powered Red using Future Model Weapon Girl 01), and it took me over a month after I backlogged the project for almost seven years. I keep photo records of what I do, and I start the albums when I get the kits.

This is true, I would love a kit that is a gundam hangar setup

Gunpla was the biggest pain in the ass to get in the late 90s early 00s. Especially if you lived in a small city without any anime stores in it. We had one store in my whole town that sold some of the old school HGs and that was it. Once we had a walmart sell the old HG wing gundam but it was one of the worst kits i've ever built.

I recommend everyone to look into the marketing pitch for Doozybots to see the opposite side of the coin of this shit. It was Sunrise's attempt, of their own volition, to introduce Gundam cartoons to the Western market and the result is laughably trite and inept. Special mention goes to the kid in the wheelchair whose Doozybot form is... the Guntank. Kid can't even walk in his robo body.

I found a kid show my family watched while finding these commercials, and it felt like a fever dream that it was a gundam show

Gundam in the UK on TV was just Gundam Wing that was it it was'nt until this year G Gundam got a Blu Ray and it never aired on UK TV. The Models lots was hard to find too not many shops stocked them and we stoped geting then right before US got G Gundam ones nothing SD Gundam Force made it to UK.
