That makes me sad hearing how you cant talk about your stash because of being judged. Shame on those people. You work hard for the things you have and have earned. Never let anyone make you feel guilty or ashamed of that because you are amazing and those negative naceys have nothing else better to do then make someone feel down about how many kits they may have or not have. Your happy and thats all that matters! :) Plus not that it matters but you have collected those kits over time, not in one week lol just know that some of us understand, so you do you girlie! :)

Thank you for talking about your experiences with mental health. I also struggle with depression. My wife is just now easing her way back into work after needing residential treatment for cPTSD... and she's a therapist. She became the person she needed when she was younger. My wife has been very open about this on social media and it's amazing how many people we know responded and were able to talk about their own mental health problems. Being open about it can be hard, but it helps others. I'm really glad you're taking care of yourself and working through this.

Hello again, Rachel. I've been binging your old WIP & chats since I restarted DP earlier this year, so you've probably been seeing my comments. I wanted to personally thank you for giving me a safe space that I can go to talk about DP without all the drama/controversy that seemed so prevalent when I stepped away back in 2022. (I started in 2018, as well.) It was initially difficult to find a creator who I could follow who made me feel comfortable without triggering me. My mom and I used to listen to your book readings as well, so I love your voice. She passed in April, but she was always asking me when you were going to do Through the Looking Glass! Thank you, again. 😊

I also suffered from CPTSD. I started going to therapy two years ago, and it helped tremendously to my mental health as well as the ability to maintain smooth relationships with people around me. I’ve been doing handmade crafts since I was little, such as knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, paint by number…, until I found diamond painting! It indeed is more soothing and faster for me to complete the same area of project. I can naturally sit there for hours DPing without feeling tired. I enjoy listening to your voice in the background while I work on DP or on the road. Thank you for keeping me company. ❤

Thank you so much for sharing, Eve! If you're anything like me, you'll swing back around to other crafts eventually. I feel like sometimes we get a bad rap for having multiple hobbies, but crafting is like an umbrella, everything is totally fair game! Happy to keep you company whenever you need 💜

Stash Envy. It is a thing? It is your life, so play it! I'm working my first diamond painting, as something to do in front of the fan in a hot home. Amazing how fast the hours go by, and not a whole lot of mental work involved. Very relaxing, but the cat hates me now, because I won't share my new game with her. I have lots of stashes, by the way. This craft is so inexpensive, I can see how a person would pick it up and accumulate kits. I know people who have craft rooms, and others who have a packed basement or garage. Everyone needs their cave to go to for rest, I think, especially if they have a busy mind. Thanks for your videos, that I found in my feed, by accident, happily. You are good for creative folks, so keep it up, please.

i deal with depression and anxiety and diamond painting has changed my life. I work on it constantly. My brother which lives with me judges me for all the diamond paintings that i have bought. I have now restricted myself to not buy anymore. Yes i have ALOT of them but i plan on doing them all and i have gotten several friends into it. Instead of just sitting around worrying about what about is going on with my life i dp and it helps me out so much. Im glad i came across your channel.

I can fully understand the struggle with mental health and how diamond painting helps. I also have physical health issues so use a combination of hobbies with diamond painting, latch hook rugs/cushions, cross stitching, quiz and colouring books being my main favourites. It all depends on how well I’m feeling on a particular day both mentally and physically but these hobbies are amazing and keep me going as well as help me feel motivated and positive. Diamond painting is often my favourite when I wish to be quiet and retreat into myself 😃

So True! DPing in the morning is so rewarding! 🎉 Making time for myself makes it easier to do the things that I need to later. I have put it down for a while because of vision issues. Thank you, Rachel, for suggesting a magnifier to make the symbols easier to see. Of course, my light pad will help too! All Dogs Go to Heaven might not ever be finished. My furbaby, Adara, passed away from cancer a month ago. My Red Wolf German Shepherd meant so much to me. I plan on making a custom of her.

When you said “executive function” it brought to mind a family member who complained her brain was sabotaging her. With family advocates and lots of perseverance she was diagnosed with ASD among some other things. That diagnosis helped explain so many “issues” in her world. It sounds like you’ve experienced the same type of thing. Learning what works differently allows you to better cope and plan your day. Great to hear about personal experiences and how people care for their mental health.

Our subconscious mind runs at about 40,000 beats per second, our conscious mind at 40 beats per second. We can try all we want with some measure of success, but the subconscious wins out in the long run. Until you reprogram your subconscious with good programs that serve you the struggle is real.

Hi Rachel, I don't do a lot of diamond painting but when I do, I'm usually very depressed. There's something about the sparkle that makes me feel a little better. I mostly enjoy needlecrafts. I love cross stitch, embroidery, and knitting. I don't know why but I don't see a lot of your videos, KZread doesn't suggest them in my feed. I love your Tuesday stories with your husband. I'm glad you are getting out to have fun. I wish you the best with healing from your mental health. I have some mental health struggles too, I think that's why we craft. Followed both socials. I understand it can be hard to rebuild and I give you credit for putting forward the energy to make new ones again. I didn’t follow the socials before (I’m a bit lazy when it comes to following anyone on multiple platforms) but now I follow you on everything. Best of luck, beautiful WIP n chat. ❤

I think a vlog style would be very fun! However, do whatever makes it easier and more fun for you both. Besides filming for content and everything, it's still important for both of you to enjoy yourselfs and be in the moment😊

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you and your channel very much, I also have quite a large stash and at times I would like to pass it forward. My problem is I do not know how to do this, because if I say anything everyone comes out of the woodwork wanting things for free. I have in the past send several paintings out for free to people who have touched me personally when they would like a painting that maybe they cannot afford it and such. I guess I just wanted you to know mentally you have touched me personally and do help with my off days. But please do not feel bad about your stash. I just feel like you know me and when I watch your channel I am talking with a good friend. Thank you so much for just being you😊

A really enjoyed your video, just one point about the paper straws they're very bad for us. they leach out worse chemicals then what plastic straws have. Cheers Graham.

I really enjoy watching your channel. This video alone has helped me a lot. I suffer from depression too. And Diamond paining helps me with my anxiety and depression so much. It’s so much of a stress reliever for me to be able to sit down and be in my little world of Diamond painting. I have a question though. The tray you are using in this video is not available. Do you recommend any other nice trays and where could I get some? Thank you in advance. And keep sharing Thea wonderful videos Rachael! We love them and you!

I love watching you and James on your Tuesday series. you two always make a really cute couple. I really think it would look better as a blog, rather than your usual diamond painting chat. but that's just my opinion sweetie. you do what you think I'm sure I will love it.

So glad you’ve been feeling better. Sure missed your videos while you were gone. OMG are you going to the most haunted castle that you and James talked about???? That would be so awesome. As far as which format, I would say whatever is easiest for you. I think the vlog would be wonderful which I would think would be easier for you guys.

I am glad you are getting to travel again. I hope to attend a crafting retreat at some point soon. Looking forward to your grim videos. I am sad about the straw thing. I just can't do paper straws. The texture and the taste of them is awful. Have a blast on your upcoming trip. Safe travels!!

I really appreciate the content of this upload: I experience a LOT of what you describe, especially with the mental health struggles (and progress) and 'polyamory' with different crafts, getting super absorbed in a craft for a while before switching it up, coming back, moving on to something new or old again, etc. I always feel guilty about buying all the startup materials for a new craft just to do it for a few months before I get excited about something new, but I do try to get back to those crafts when I can. >_ ~ScatteredSol

This comment is word for word exactly how I feel! I bounce between crafts and interests and then become hesitant to return to them. :') I wish I could afford all the hobbies that catch my interest so I don't feel that guilt when I go back and forth.

I can understand an relate to some of the things that you are going through and have been diagnosed with.. My mom teases me about my stash.. I keep telling her a few things.. one being that my "addiction" could be worse.. However the main reason i love diamond art is that it helps.. It really does.. i have even had some people tell me that oh that looks tedious or oh i dont have patience for that.. or something to that effect.. For me though.. it gives me something to focus on and kinda get lost in.. you know what i mean? going through a lot of mental disorders or disabilities is hard.. and not always easy. its like you dont always feel strong or anything.. even though you get told you are.. diamond painting helps me.. and i enjoy it. But ooo a diamond painting retreat sounds fun.. let us know.. :)

Don't let anyone make you feel bad for the stash you've worked hard for. I've found that most people who say something mean about what someone else has are the ones that sit behind a computer screen and want something for nothing. I tell those people to get a job and if they're unable physically to work then volunteer somewhere because they have way too much time on their hands if they're able to judge others on what they worked for. Please share your stash. If you don't, how will I know what I don't have lol.
