Super important: D shield + second wind in every matchup, and holding gray health as long as possible (until dshield/2nd wind healing is done), as well as holding pot as long as possible (saving for engaging or when youre killable), allows you to stay in lane as long as possible and win trades you shouldnt.

That strat is if you go ignite. Now, with TP, you can go aggressive by starting off with longsword pot, and look for a min 5 tp, making it as good of a sustain as D-shield, while having a build advantage.

@j.r.p1305 No it's for tp as well. Major disagree, dshield is the best in 99.99% of cases for it allowing you to sustain and cs in lane for as long as possible (early gold and xp is pivotal), and not waste tp due to low health. Longsword is tough to justify after the Doran item buffs, but even before that, Dshield + 2nd wind + passive was far too beneficial in early lane, you rarely even need to use your pot pre-6. Pyke needs to extend/survive trades more than he needs immediate damage that early. Also I think TP is a fixed summoner for pyke mid at this point, ignite doesn't have anywhere close to the same value.

@MukyD because the way doran's shield/2nd wind work, the lower your health is the more healing they provide after taking champ damage. So holding the grey health for longer means they'll heal for more, and you'll have more overall health when you do heal the grey.

One important thing you missed is that Dave angles most of his ults to hit on the edge of the x, so you cover the flash back, X range is same range as flash. One very important thing to do in higher elo

There’s no secret to how he makes pyke work .. he’s actually so good at pyke mechanically it’s similar to asking how is irelking pzzang so good at their their mains

up to diamond i encountered zero Pykes who possibly be a threat in a game with a decent performing tank. They usually drop like off a cliff on midgame when they dont have the chance to snowball, no matter which role they play. But props to the gameplay scenes, this dude has mastered pyke and has a few tricks up his sleeve i didnt know about.

Man thx this means alot to me Dave is my fav midlaner and pyke is my first main when i started in s9 I used to play him and have fun but then he git nerfs and his ult didn't give 600 gold and I never played him since I felt he is weak in support And only found succes with him in mid but never made it out of diamond bcs he is really hard to master and I wasn't as good as dave so I swiched to top instead of mid and now I'm master I'll give pyke mid a chance now and try to master him Truly thank you

Dave blinds him and he bans neeko He say that he dont pick him if he sees akali mid cuz she hard counters him And there is alot of hard mtachups like fizz, leblanc, syals and many more But dave is just used to them he is a one trick So if you want to one trick spam him mid and learn from your fails and matbe oneday you will be able to have a good winrate with him

Another note from an experienced pyke: if you ever wanna run away from someone right on ur tail, go to a bush, and when they run through to catch u, hook them back over u, and e and w in the opposite direction. If they try to follow, they will be stunned. And ur out of there.

another one, differently from other champions your hook always pulls a fixed distance, if you're being chased by a melee auto attacker you can corner yourself in a short wall, when the persuer gets in melee range you can hook him over the wall and simply go away or E away from the wall after he's at the other side
