'How dare he': Biden rebukes special council claim he forgot date of son's death

The US president, Joe Biden, defended his memory in a short speech after a report from the justice department questioned his ability to remember key events and facts. The report also exonerated Biden over his handling of classified materials. Biden disputed some press reporting that he had 'wilfully retained documents' and said the special counsel report's descriptions concerning the date of his son's death were 'extraneous commentary' that 'had no place' there. Biden's remarks came after an earlier statement in which the US president welcomed the finding that he should not face criminal charges.

Biden didn't use it as a defence. The special council who's job it was to investigate for anything that may have been done illegally and intentually so. And he did not find any evidence of such. The special council went beyond the scope of his job when he wrote that he thought his poor memory and age would make a jury feel sympathetic, making it hard to convict him..Special councils to investigate aren't the trail attorney choosing juries so adding such a statement makes no sense AND since he stated he found NO evidence indicating him guilty of anything illegal, then why all that blubber about a jury feeling sympathetic, since he didn't have evidence to even take it to a trial in the first place. WHY...... because he is digging in a party politics jab. One extremist Republics would latch onto without using any critical thinking skills. This special council is playing politic games and should himself be investigated. We can have that in rule of law. We got tgat corruption in the Supreme Court and we need to clean house there as well.

@@charlesvan13 To be fair this report was written by a Trump-appointed special counsel who would go on to contradict many of the things said in the the opening later in the report. Like he said Biden willfully retained documents just to later say that there is not enough evidence to prove that. For the Memory, it could be a terrible thing like absolutely not knowing that his son died (which is unlikely) or something minor like oh I don't remember the year, but I know the day. Also when being interviewed by a prosecutor, it's suggested that if you aren't 100% sure of something (like a date or something along those lines) you say you don't remember. Most of this was brought up on Tuesday's episode of Pod Save America who were Obama staffers and had to go through their fair share of FBI interviews.

It isn't the short term memory that matters, it's the years of priceless first hand experience our elders have accumulated. Where elders are valued, young people are able to learn from their experience and build on it, instead of floundering around repeating their mistakes

this poor man is going to be remembered for being one of the most incapable presidents. His mental decline is even more evident if you watch him from 10 years ago. Even before he was elected there were significant issues. He should have never been the candidate as now we are watching an old man being angry about his capacity
