Oooh, I love Q&A! Great video. Well, they're all wonderful, informative, and so fun! I was amazed I got around France okay. It just worked out even when I didn't understand if I was doing the right thing or not. Was glad I found out, pre-travel, about metro travel hints (take train w/name of last street on route you're taking) & about making definite train reservations (not just for TGV) since you never knew when they'd suddenly be full due to a saint holiday...very glad. However, I never got a handle on bus travel - easy or not, enough routes & time tables, switching between trains & a bus, etc.??? I missed Monet's house due to that. Not like there weren't other great places to visit! So, yes, wine vid and travel vid, please. ...weather, clothing to wear so you don't look like such a tourist, why do so many people wear down jackets in hot muggy weather even though they're uncomfortably sweating like crazy, ...?? Thanks and have a wonderful week!

I would love you to do a video on French wines/winemaking. I am a funny (odd) person in that I don't drink (never developed a taste for wine/beer) but long ago when I lived in Ann Arbor MI I had the chance to take a French wine class. Even though I do not drink, I love to learn about things and how to read wine labels/wine making is fascinating. It also helps me when I choose to purchase wine as a gift for someone. Funny story about my taking the wine class...I took it in January and after sipping just a bit I got a bit woozy (tipsy) and there was a raging ice storm outside. Not a good mix as I slid through the parking lot to return to my car and drive home!

In retrospect, I don't think I ever really liked the taste of alcohol much at all either. I was probably just trying to fit in and be sociable. The lightbulb moment for me came after I finally gave up cigarette smoking and my taste receptors fully reawakened--after decades of smoke dulling them into a state of partial dormancy. However, I do enjoy cooking occasionally with wine (especially marsala) to enhance a sauce, or in the case of turkey gravy---a tiny little splash of vermouth and allow it to cook out the alcohol's acrid flavor.

Personnally, i would recommand the methods i used to learn english almost from scratch: whenever you are on the internet, use the french internet, and just suffer through it for a few years. I hate studying, i can't bear textbooks and i can definitely never follow a learning schedule. But when i listen to, write and read english everytime i am on the internet (or spanish), using online dictionaries and stuff (for pronunciation, too), and exercizing my curiosity to check from time to time pronunciation or grammar rules i can't undertstand... the need for a (potentially paying) 'tool' disappears. Now, using a french/english language exchange through sites like italki can be useful, too. I plan to do that myself, because i am unsure if i can actually 'speak' the language properly. So, i probably need to find someone out there to speak english with (and french, if useful to the other party).

I love what you said about the challenges being your favorite part. And I knew as soon as you said it that you were going to say it was the hardest part too. ;) It makes every day so interesting, but it can also be tiring sometimes when every little thing takes effort, even the stupid stuff. I imagine after eight years though, a lot of the banal everyday stuff becomes routine and doesn't take so much mental or emotional effort anymore. It's funny, I'm narrowing down where I want to buy a property in France, and Angers and La Rochelle are (currently) the two at the top of my list! Makes me feel more secure in those choices, that you feel so positively about both of them. 👍🏻 👍🏻

If you have never been to Paris I would spend my time in Paris. It is such a beautiful place. Don't take traveling days and waste them on a trip through the countryside. One note about tours in Paris. If you go in the summer "Air Conditioning" that is advertised on the sides of tour buses is a joke. It is more like a hot sauna. Oh and if you are flying out even the wine in vending machines is good. A tip for travelers to Paris. Long ago I had to find a place to cash American Express travelers cheques. Little did I know that you have to cash them at the post office unless that has changed.
