How Charles Dickens Changed Christmas for the World (feat. Colin Hanks) - Drunk History
Комедия
Charles Dickens (Colin Hanks) was already a world-renowned writer when he wrote “A Christmas Carol” and reinvigorated the concept of Christmas.
About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

Colin Hanks is such an underrated actor. Everything he has done is great from this to the season of Dexter he was on... perfect.

BroImpeccable Right on !
My Lord, I can't imagine what Christmas would be like without Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Beside the Scripture, it gives the essence of not only what the Christmas spirit can be, but for many what the God of their faith would want them to do. Yes, it is a Christian holiday, but much of it also seems universal. And no doubt other cultures and faiths have similar experiences.
This is probably the most finely-crafted Drunk History I’ve seen. It’s amazing!!!
Charles Dickens does a Ted Talk.
“Chuck Dickens… Charles if you will…” “I will!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This may be Colin Hanks' finest performance!

“Father, I’m crippled!” “Well no SH*T! What else is new?” Oh my gosh I died
Colin Hanks is so good in these.
Here's to giving and charity and kindness and redemption and all that good stuff! *everybody drinks. I'm drinking* YEAH!!
Love this dude cuz he's just sitting there drinking straight vodka lol Such wisdom!
I especially love the whole scene starting @ 4:48 min - Simply hilarious!
That was actually amazing.
*slaps book* here we go
So, A Christmas Carol was released 175 years ago today, December 19th. This video was also released on KZread 363 days after it was first recorded. It makes sense. This is the time of year to release this clip and they didn't want to have it available for free while it's still on the air.
When Colin slaps that book, I could not stop laughing!! 😂😂😂 I had to rewind a few times!!
Comedy timing on that "performance" of A Christmas Carole was amazing!
dude this might be my favourite drunk history. it actually made me laugh out loud.
Dickens really was a genius. He's my favorite author, his characters feel so real.
Already I can tell this is the best drunk history ever because this man can hold his liquor.
I used to listen to Phil on the radio all the time. He just gave a toast to literally everything lol
Love Phil H! Used to listen to him on his radio show. Amazing voice work!
Cheers to Darles Chickens🍻
Immediately one of my all time favorites lol Right up there with Frankenstein
Love Drunk History! I was wondering how I missed this one, then I realized it was posted the day I went into labor.

I was ready to hear the whole story when he slapped that book! That's engaging!
HOW have I never seen this?? Phil was wonderful! The words are clear but clearly drunk.
Am I the only one who loves when he says brother? It's very warm and honest.
Perfect
I can't get over Colin Hanks & Busy Phillips' Drunk History actings! 😂
Colin Hanks again! His Mister Rogers in Drunk History was epic!
Why he gotta slap the book like that though at 4:58 😂😂😂😂😂
The book slap and “ no shit” 😂😂😂😂
I love the part when he goes"huh?oh!" his mind goes somewhere before he continues the story

He be getting them helllllllla LIT 😂😂😂😂
I knew we were gonna be on a ride when Phil took that first shot, made a face like someone shadoodled their pants, and let out a breathy, anticipatory "oh yeahhh"
I feel like getting an old school radio DJ for a drunk history is cheating. Like, how can you tell?
“Principle Vagina. No relation” This is probably my favourite tv line and every time I hear Phil Hendrie, I remember and laugh again.
That face he makes when he goes huh lmao that's my Gramps right there telling a story haha miss u Gramps
History is awesome, drunk history is best.
This is the best story...
The book slap killed me. Suck a perfect lip reading/re-enactment
colin is so good at this! this one is so much better than others
I love Mr. Hanks.
D’aww what a nice toast at the beginning of the video. That was so sincere :)
This was well-directed.
That retelling of A Christmas Carol was the greatest I’ve ever seen.
I miss Phil Hendrie's show. I guess he's still doing it... but when it was on the radio that shit was amazing.

This guy is actually entertaining. I'd watch a show of just him drunk telling stories
In honor of Charlie D. I think I shall watch one of the versions of A Christmas Carol tonight. And start on Stave 1. :D
So im Seeing this after my gcse English literature mock. Niiiiice
Cheers To Charles Dickes May the Sacred Goddess and God Bless His Soul Forever.
I know these entities are on opposite ends, but I think it would be HILARIOUS to have Joey Diaz narrate one of these
“ Fatha I’m crippled” “No shit what else is new”
Holy shit. The part where he is "reading" the book was absolutely fucking hilarious
This show is the definition of great comedic timing.
This is so funny jesus im crying laughing
Dude, Dickens suit it sweet@the beginning there.
I want this guy to do a drunk summary retelling of A Christmas Carol itself. Seriously!
I love that they had Colin Hanks is in this
through out my whole schooling ive never heard the story of dickens
Phil Hendrie has the coolest voice. Plus, he sounds like Heisenberg.
I like this guy 😂
Phil Hendri, the original troll. His radio show is hysterical.
I actually got to see a first edition of “A Christmas Carol” up close. Dickens published it in a series, so there were like 6 or 9 individual little books with all the illustrations for each part of the story.
