How characters develop in stories

The Write brothers have moved on!
See what they're up to at www.litfilmfest.com for projects for your class and school to make amazing media.
Want to make your story even smarter? Think about how the character changes and what makes them change rather than solely about what happens.
Reginald and Rufus explain how characters can change within a story. Hilarity ensues.
Suitable for all key stages and young writers.

I think that this helped me. While trying to listen to this, I visualized myself, an author with a vendetta to hurt the MC or villain, and then the character ruins my plan and then creates a new path for himself. For example, in the trope of a lonely angry man who hates children, he has a chance to lose the children, but when he sees what that means, he lets go of the author's plan and counters it by creating his own plan to save and keep the children.

I only realized it this day but one character has 4.5 different major story points and no real parts that tie one to the next 1 in their normal form just to show off the personality of them and because its the beginning of how things start 2 trying to obtain a human form via magic stuff because thats a personal goal 3 Finding an equal yet mirrored girl version of themselves and become close friends 4 eventually having a kid (there supernatural beings so they just combine their powers nothing else) 4.5 said kid becomes the center of the story for a bit and has traveled back (for some urgent reason unknown to the audience) to before/the start of section 3 and playing as just a nobody while their in a hurry
