How Can the World Stop China from Invading Taiwan? | Vantage with Palki Sharma

How Can the World Stop China from Invading Taiwan? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
China's president Xi Jinping has refused to rule out the use of force to "reunite" Taiwan with the mainland. Chinese leaders consider it to be unfinished business from the civil war. But Taiwan is not a pushover. It ranks 24th on the global firepower index, ahead of NATO members like Sweden and Canada. The island's defence spending rose 5% annually under the previous president and now stand at 2.5% of the national GDP. An invasion of the island would also require China to ferry tens of thousands of soldiers across the choppy waters of the Taiwan strait, an operation that could last days. Considering these risks and the global fallout, will Xi Jinping go ahead with the invasion? Palki Sharma tells you.

I sometimes wonder to myself, what would the response of US be, if China, sent an equal quantity, and equal deadliness, Naval fleet to Puerto Rico, and sailed the water between PR and the space between Cuba and the Gulf coast of North America. 1. How would we feel? 2. What do we think we'd do? 3. Are we therefore hippocrits?

Should Taiwan fully re-integrate with China. They would control 85% or the global production of microchips. Microchips that are needed for like everything. Planes Computers Databases Scientific instruments Microwaves TV's Tanks Warplanes Drones Space travel Phones Watches Cars Electronic cars IoT systems LITTERALY EVERYTHING. That's the real reason why they are brainwashing the people to think Taiwan isn't China. Because if that happens, the USA and the entire world is at the mercy of the CPC regarding the purchase of microchips. The biggest manufacturer for microchip production machinery just got an offer for 40 billion dollar, interestfree loan from the americans, to stop selling and helping china build that technology. ù You see, everything has deeper meaning. Nothing is as innocent as it seems. Delve deeper into things, if you want to correctly understand them.

China is not violating Taiwan's territorial integrity, and anyone, including the United States, can navigate these waters. It’s not Western propaganda; it’s a fact. No Chinese or anti-Western media claims that China is entering Taiwan's waters or airspace. They all say they are entering the identification zone. It’s an escalation and significant, but it’s no different than what the U.S. does in the South China Sea, which China claims as theirs but is considered international waters. Taiwan's territorial baseline is 24 miles from land. Anyone within 24 miles of Taiwan violates their territorial integrity and risks a military response. The closest Chinese aircraft got to Taiwan's coast was 40 nautical miles. You are welcome. Surrounding means nothing today. All these nations have the means to hit targets thousands of miles away. Tell China to actually enter Taiwan's territory or fly over the island, and then we can see how tough they are.

Specially when they’ve being preparing for it for this eventuality for decades with their porcupine strategy if that fails the west has a plan to destroy all semiconductors manufacturing capabilities and deny China of this resource. All scientists and personnel will be relocated to the U.S. and western nations before China even gets a chance to get close. Taiwan is not Ukraine. It’s worth fighting 100 wars over it. It produced 90% of the world semiconductors. Letting China take it even without a single shot means a total collapse of western economies and the end of the current global order. It can bring many nations to a technological Stone Age which can cost millions of lives. All westerns nations would be united as it would be existential even if it threatens nuclear war. Your lack of understanding about technology and how critical Taiwan is to the world and western nations is obvious. This would be the equivalent of 100 Perl harbor and something that the US will answer 100 times as it did against Japan. The U.S. and the west hoped that it didn’t come to it but it’s clear that it’s inevitable. The U.S., NATO and western nations and all their alies are preparing for war. Just like it’s the case with Russia that will not stop with Ukraine; the only way to prevent them from threatening the west is by isolating them economically, support those willing to fight them and bleed them dry of their ability to wage war.

After the outbreak of the Korean War on June 25, 1950, President Truman declared that the "neutralization of the Straits of Formosa" was in the best interest of the United States, and he sent the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet into the Taiwan Strait to prevent any conflict between the Republic of China and the Red China, effectively putting Taiwan under American protection. It was known by U.S. government officials that if Taiwan was already recognized as Chinese national territory, there would be no legal basis for the President to authorize such an action by the Seventh Fleet.

But some time I feel pity for the people who don't know where their welfare lies and they get swayed by unreasonable and useless claims by political parties specially opposition parties and vote for them to lament later for their unwise decision.this has been the misfortune of people in Indian democracy since beginning.congress ruled for almost six decades appeasing muslims and keeping people in dark illusion of development. I firmly believe that had modi become pm six decades ago ,India would have been more developed than most of the western developed countries.on the surface i observe some resentment among the masses against Modi which I fear would harm the prospect of modi becoming pm for third time. Let's hope good sense will prevail.

Background to WWII in the Pacific: The U.S. entered the Pacific War against Japan on Dec. 8, 1941. All military attacks against the four main Japanese islands and (Japanese) Taiwan were conducted by U.S. military forces, as confirmed in numerous published sources. The United States is the "conqueror" and hence will be the principal occupying power. In other words, under international law it is the USA which bears the responsibility for the military occupation (including “rebuilding,” “reconstruction,” etc.) of Taiwan. In General Order No. 1, issued on Sept. 2, 1945, General Douglas MacArthur gave directions to Chiang Kai-shek of the Republic of China to accept the surrender of Japanese troops in Taiwan. Since there was no functioning Chinese navy or air force in 1945, Chiang’s troops agreed to be transported to Taiwan on U.S. ships and aircraft. Thus, the era of the ROC in Taiwan began in Oct. 1945 with the full assistance and tutelage of the United States. Contrastingly, Chinese history books state that Chiang’s troops came to Taiwan on their own initiative, but that is simply a face-saving exaggeration. In fact, it is important to recognize that Chiang’s troops were exercising delegated administrative authority for the military occupation of Taiwan. The following are an additional Five Items of Proof to say that the leading Allies did not recognize that October 25, 1945, was “Taiwan Retrocession Day.”

Just remember how Taiwan was used in WWII, remember also the 25 million Chinese killed in that war, to defend the right of freedom of the free world, which today, is turning against China for financial reasons. This is how we measure our evolution and who we are, our opinions go with the wind, and there are people whose expertise is to blow. What side are you on? I believe at this height, you will have only two choices.

Certain questions regarding sovereignty issues were debated in the U.K. Parliament in 1955. An important part of the discussion involved Formosa and the Pescadores. Oral Answer: Joint Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Mr. R. H. Turton) Date: May 4, 1955 Subject: Far East (Formosa and the Pescadores) The case of Formosa is different. The sovereignty was Japanese until 1952. The Japanese Treaty came into force, and at that time Formosa was being administered by the Chinese Nationalists, to whom it was entrusted in 1945, as a military occupation. In 1952 we did not recognise the Chinese Nationalists as representing the Chinese State. Therefore this military occupancy could not give them legal sovereignty nor, equally, could the Chinese People's Republic, which was not in occupation of Formosa, derive any rights from occupation of that territory. [OFFICIAL REPORT, 4th February, 1955; Vol. 536, c. 159.] . . . . the fact is that Formosa is not under Chinese sovereignty. That does not mean that the Chinese Nationalists have no right to be there. Their presence springs from their military occupancy in which they were placed by the Allied Powers in 1945, pending future arrangements. -- HANSARD 1803 - 2005 / Commons Sitting, 04 May 1955 vol 540 cc1865-74

Once the country established their own government and ran it for a long time that country who established their own government is not part of other country anymore. So Taiwan can not be part of China because they have chosen their own type of government. However, if the government of that country is willing to unify to motherland that is the time both country could join together in a peaceful way. Once China attached Taiwan that is a provocation to the security of the world and the Unified countries have the power to defend that based on the International obligations.
