I love how real you are with us, especially when you were talking about haul videos. I think a lot of people can get caught up watching luxury KZread channels and can get themselves in trouble thinking they need to “keep up” in a way. Instead, save up and only buy what you love. I feel that influencers have a responsibility to avoid unhealthy spending or projecting false spending habits (hiding sponsored items). I love watching you Cassie because you have videos that are diverse. If you never made a lux haul video I wouldn't be upset. I think discussing trends or chatting about fashion fails much more entertaining. Love the evidence you give and the hilarious critical commentary you make while shopping. The only reason I dabble in luxury hauls is when I am interested in a piece but want to see or hear another person's review of the item before I consider buying it.

I really find your honesty refreshing - it is a rare thing in the Luxury Community. I know it isn't quite the same, but hey, I class it as luxury - I saved up for a new computer and once I had got over being seduced on the Apple website I bought a (semi) ridiculous computer for my meagre needs. But the feeling of paying for it in full in one go, and unwrapping the bloody thing was marvellous, it truly was. Saving is always the way to go, those Klarna things are the work of some really evil person, they are dreadful. I hope you are having a great time with your Mum 😊

I AM SO DAMNED IMPRESSED! Like I feel proud to have subscribed to this channel (if that even makes sense) 😂 I've recently gotten into luxury (only been about 1.5 years since I started buying and 2 years since I've been saving) & I feel this insane pressure to start buying everything I see on YT unboxing! Especially for stuff like Chanel & Dior with the pressure to buy early bec of price rises! Definitely one of the best videos you've made because I do feel some ppl watch these videos and put themselves in debt trying to keep up with all of the luxury items. I love this video. I think it is great that you understand that people should value your videos for more than just unboxing and hauls. I like how you can enjoy the world of luxury fashion without owning every hot trendy piece. You are very genuine and intentional in your purchases and that is great!

One of the reasons I enjoy your channel is that I never feel that you buy things to unbox them and then return them later. You unbox things, and then I see you use those items. I have stopped watching KZread channels that have a lot of unboxing and either the item goes into a closet to never been seen or the item is returned. In the rare occasion I buy a luxury piece I have to use it. I can’t justify the price without using it regularly. Plus, I love your comment about influences receiving credit from sponsorships in addition to being paid. I think most influencers aren’t very transparent about that fact, which truly does lead people to wonder how on earth that person can order multiple bags, SLG, shoes, etc. so regularly.

Thank you for this video. I have wondered how you and other influencers who purchase designer pieces can afford them. Your story is pretty realistic. I too try and budget for my purchases, but have been guilty of succumbing to instant gratification and buying first and feeling regret later. I am working on a plan to get my credit card debt paid off over the next couple of months so that I can once again feel at peace, and then if I make a purchase, I will feel the thrill of 100% guilt free so that I can truly enjoy that item.

I tried it on, couldn't justify the price, and didn't feel the magic because I was so stressed about having bought it and sent it back. and having used affirm I ended up spending $60 just to try the damn bag on since the interest starting racking up immediately 🙃

You're not the only one who's a hermit. My strategy to allow myself to buy luxury items is to buy from online outlets. There are several sites in Italy, Germany and the UK that have great discounts on older collections. They add new products every week, but I never buy more than I can pay cash.

I really appreciate this video. I think its very easy to become un-relatable in the realm of *luxury fashion*. I do like watching Tamara Kalinic but the way she talks about things she bought and the sheer amount of expensive stuff she buys to me is not down to earth and frankly a lot of the time im not convinced she actually loves the things she is showing. In saying that it's really lovley to see your channel grow becuase its a really nice community that you've built. I would be happy for you and Sophie Sohet to collab one day. SHe's honestly my fav luxury person to watch besides u. Both of you seem really down to earth.

Love this video! I was also in this dilemma! I used to work with government, very good pay but not for luxury items especially since I bought my own apartment the same day I signed my first work contract. Then I decided to open my own business and move. I spent the first 5 years investing and living on bare minimum possible and my husband and I built a house on top of my shop!! I dont have a consistent income either. From 3 years ago I could afford to pay myself. I saved an amount for myself and try not to go below that limit saved! What I do is give myself a consistent salary which is always manageable from my business and is above average of a normal salary since The business now affords to give me that salary (whatever money is left I leave it in my busniess account for further investing). I still do not spend everything. But if I want something I get it. I wanted the Graceful LV which is one of the cheapest bags of LV and a lot of ppl dont like it! But I got it and im sooo happy! The same shop had the felicie pochette and I got it as well!!! I would have never imagined buying a LV bag let alone 2!!! I cut my hair once a year, I do not have any commute expenses because I live a minute away and I dont do my nails either ☺️

Such wise words!! Specially about the other You Tubers and hauls / constant unboxings - I’ve learnt to give myself regular reality checks over these 🤔 My income is sometimes inconsistent as I do different hours each month, so similar to you I do an annual plan with a monthly budget for expenditure and savings using the absolute minimum I know I will earn each month - then anything I earn over this is a nice bonus that can go into savings or go towards a luxury item. I will disagree with one thing though - I am likely to be on my deathbed bemoaning the fact that I didn’t get that classic flap with rose gold hardware!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Smart budgeting got me out of credit card debt. I did a 3 month no-buy and subsequent low buy. Also, a fixed amount goes straight to savings, to taxes and recurring expenses. 👏🏻Budgeting 👏🏻is 👏🏻 key!! Finding additional passive income is also important. Diversification, people!! Love the honesty and great tips you’re giving to your viewers/followers. I’ve always been responsible with my finances, just like you, I plan on my luxury expenses..saving is the 🔑. I’ve watch several luxury items influencer and you’re the only one that have a really good content on sharing tips and advice, how to be able to purchase luxury items in a responsible way. Granting you’re a self proclaim luxury addict and refuse to go to rehab 😜 (it’s hilarious), you’re a responsible queen of luxury addict. Ahh thanks for doing my video suggestion!! 🥰 Super helpful. The planning part was just what I was after, now that I’m actually in a place to follow runway shows and realistically go after a few items a year… but you walk into Chanel and 5 bags are calling your name, or you see something cute at Zara and before you know it you’ve spent $250 (on what again?)… need to stay strong! I’m after a pair of boots coming in November and I’ve found it easier to save for something that has a “release date” vs generally setting money aside for say, an eventual Birkin (haven’t even started my journey yet so can only dream). Thanks again - go enjoy your holiday!!

Thanks Cassie for this video. I think it’s informative and like you said it’s for fun, luxury items aren’t fun when your broke and homeless because we spent all our money on Chanel and Hermes. (Chic homeless) and also buying things for the hype is never a good idea. If someone is in love with the item then by all means but buying pieces that you’re going to wear now and until your grand child asked you for it, those are the pieces to invest and purchase.

Cassie, I love your channel. Being a student, I do not have a lot of disposible income. But you know what, I still love spending money, and if that means to spend it on less expensive things and buy a coat for 100€ instead of 1000€ it still makes me happy. I was in the phase of buying items I loved so much but then didn’t even wear because I couldn’t enjoy them because I felt guilty of overspending. And well, last summer I bought a wallet on sale for 39€ from Liebeskind, and although on the luxury scale it is nowhere near, let’s say Chanel for example, it’s the one item I enjoy the most. And to me that’s what it’s all about.

We love you bcz of your honesty and transparency of luxury. In this society and other YT influencers of how they made "unboxing" of luxury items 3-5/wks seems unrealistic. I understand some ppl born with privilege. but, in my humble opinion, they missing the path of save up and get the "dream" bag feelin. I been told by one of my SA, ppl buy the bag for unboxing and return or store credit. we should sometime never believe what we see. Keep up the good works, can't wait for your vlog of your trip.

@@CassieThorpe If I got my eye on a luxury item, I think hard, if I got it, the feelin is overwhelm and I love every bags I own, and I adore them. It's sad to see some ppl lack of appreciation for the items.
