Georgia wasn't a monster, she just did what most mothers wouldn't do to protect their children. She went past the limits to keep her kids from harm and that says a lot about her character

For those who don’t know at the end Georgia was locking the door so someone who she doesn’t like didn’t get in then she put the music on loud so her daughter could not here the person trying to get in hope that helps

I think you forgot something, she is a literal child. And she self harms. You know harming yourself is not easy, anyone who has done it would know. You have to be in so much pain that you think dying is better to harm yourself and that too for years. And yet if you say ginny is not a victim you are sheltered. Georgia got with Kenny for his money, Kenny ended up assaulting Ginny as a result Georgia murders Kenny. Georgia is bringing many abusive men around her daughter. In one of the seasons Ginny runs away & Georgia is too ignorant to reach out to Ginny, Georgia is so competitive in every situation even to her own daughter. Ginny tries to move in with Zion but her mother says no just to spite her. When the mayor tries to help her with the kids she snaps at him, she is trying to get a big wedding despite her fiance saying to keep it small. She is robbing money from the mayors office. She took out a loan in Ginny & Austins names. Georgia is so overprotective yet careless at the same time, this gives a child trauma. Ginny ends up self harming from all the trauma. (I heard someone say that Georgia made a nasty comment about Ginny's scars but I dunno if thats true). In S1 Ginny is still a child with a neglectful mother. I watched halfway though the 2nd season & had to quit because Georgia is repeating the same toxic actions that lead to Ginny's abuse, not to mentions it was dragging on way too long.

Everything except give her grandparents custody. Grandparents who were good people & were financially & emotionally stable. Who would have given Ginny a safe and stable childhood with a consistent home and the best education money could buy. Above all, they loved her & she would have probably seen her dad more often & would have never been around all those dangerous men Georgia brought around her. Georgia knew that's what was best for her. She didn't run off with her in the middle of the night for Ginny. She did that for herself. And idc what kind of justifications the show tries to give for Georgia's murderous ways. If she thought her ex husband was looking at Ginny and was going to touch her, she could have filed for divorce and left him with her kids. She killed him outa greed, not necessity. The first one I could forgive, but not this one, now she is a repeat offendor.An actual murderer. She also doesn't get to put a pillow over someone's face because she doesn't think they're dying fast enough. She is outa control, and now her son has seen her do that. What do you think that is going to do to his mental health. I suppose you are going to make excuses for her in that situation, too.

Such a great job she did indeed that ginny almost got assaulted, she was exposed to bad men, and had to hide her mother's crimes from the law, getting stalked by a private investigator, mother being too sexual in front of Ginny, never getting justice for her assault, also was used as an excuse to steal money from the school.

There is a direct difference between "treated" and "treats". She "treated" her like that when she was young not when she became older but she was still there for her❤

Omg her MOM was a teenager who was RAPED by her stepdad, has trauma from being a bike gang member (gang becoming her family but I mean other things that entail it like seeing death very young and having to defend herself yk), having an abusive husband who literally embezzled money from his company and bragged about it, said husband went to jail because Georgia protected her daughter and soon son from him by getting him in prison, then had to kill her next husband because he was sexually assaulting (touching a minor (Ginny) inappropriately and making her uncomfortable) and she protected her from him instead of being frozen in fear from her own trauma. Georgia deserves a medal and not hate from her selfish daughter that literally lived a life mostly of privilege because of Georgia.

Georgia is a horrible mom & person. You people really don't know what a good mother is, if you think Georgia is a good mom. She ruined her kid's credit amongst MANY other things that could ruin anyone or hold them back tremendously in life. Also, why do y'all have beef for a literal child & not the mom who has ruined her life? She could've worked with Ginny's grandparents. They were good folk & more than capable of taking care of Ginny. None of you all grew up with fucked parents that only cared about how they saw themselves. Georgia cares about image. How does she look to others. I was Ginny. (My mom didn’t kill others but did other shit to get her way). On the surface level it seems like Ginny is being ungrateful. But Ginny is reacting anyone else would, she was lied to her entire life, her whole life is surrounded by georgias boyfriends or decisions. Ginny never got to develop her own personality because it was always so dependent on her mother. 🥱🥱 you Georgia simps are truly just so dense. You took a scene from a poem that she used as therapy. You're literally belittling her truamas just because you don't agree with it. Her mom is a literal hardcore criminal, fraud, theft, murder. Shes a serial killer. She killed Cynthia's husband for nothing, she killed her pervert ex husband because of her own trauma and the fact she would inherit the money he had. She could've easily framed him and sent him to jail like she did Austin's dad but she wanted the money that would pay off her luxurious and glamorous life she had said she wanted so many times, Ginny just wanted an actual place to call home she didn't want or need the fancy, bougie, higher in life shit she just wanted to stay somewhere long enough to make friends. Georgia made her kids move around never having anywhere to truly call theirs, that shit traumatizing kids, Georgia stayed with Austins dad knowing he was a criminal and committing fraud putting her on children on the line just because he could give her the jewelry and the money, and provide for her like she wanted. She chose to refuse help and be able to keep her child safe only to be the one putting them in those situations. Y'all praise her so damn much and say she did sooo much for her kids. But she did all of that for herself. The second she decided to become a criminal and do illegal and wrong things she chose to put her kids on the line. Shes abusive and narcissistic. Georgia can't do anything wrong she always has to have a reason as to why it was ok to do even if it was illegal, Ginny is totally within her right tobe completely traumatized

Whoever is saying that Ginny is being a brat and taking her mom for granted, you need some context. Ginny’s mom has shot people, stolen from stores, framed people, and more. The thing is, Georgia was doing this to protect and provide for her children. Ginny knows she was doing this all for her and her brother, but she can’t shake off the fact that she hurt, stole from, and framed people. She sees her as a monster but also as her mother. She isn’t ungrateful, she is just afraid of that side of her mother coming out in her. In one episode, Ginny has a nightmare where she is in her room and her mom comes in. Then her mom starts to have a pillow fight with her, then turning into Georgia starting to suffocate her. Ginny is truly scared of that side of her mom. People can’t be so judgmental about how she acts around her mom. You have to pay attention to how she acts when she thinks about her mom. When she does, she ends up being scared and cries because she only thinks of her mom’s past.

Majority doesn’t like Ginny but she’s a teenager and having lots of pressure from everywhere too. From moving too much, fitting in, immaturity and thinking about the weight of her mom killing somebody just for her. The thought, “I killed somebody to protect you.” The guilt, the helplessness, the instant involvement for the crime she didn’t want to commit, I think that’s pretty heavy for a teen. But I love Georgia and I side with her most of the time and I’m a mom too. But yes, the characters are solid for this series

Georgia really needs a hug cause even tho ginny doesn't see it, she protected her from the bad things that was happening and wanted ginny to have the life she wanted. 👇 push here if Georgia is the best mom

Listen I’m not defending Ginny but we all have to take in account her circumstances. She has a lot going on and her way of venting is through poetry and her voice. I don’t think what she said was right but she didn’t have to full picture. We all make mistakes and she’s human like all of us.

But as a mother she did the best she could, she killed a man for Ginny and she ran away from Zion and his parents just so they didn't take Ginny away from her! She worked so hard, she did everything she could just so Ginny and her brother could live a normal life, be safe, and be away from abuse. Ginny always makes everything about her, never about her mom just about how she's been hurt. Never did she consider what Georgia felt, why she did it, or if she wanted to do it.

i rarely feel for characters but when georgia suddenly broke into tears it was a direct hit to the heart

Georgia is a horrible mom & person. You people really don't know what a good mother is, if you think Georgia is a good mom. She ruined her kid's credit amongst MANY other things that could ruin anyone or hold them back tremendously in life. Also, why do y'all have beef for a literal child & not the mom who has ruined her life? She could've worked with Ginny's grandparents. They were good folk & more than capable of taking care of Ginny. In the entire show, Georgia makes almost everything about herself & even tells her daughter that she murdered for her. How should a child process that? Georgia had men around her kid & got mad that the kid didn't want that. Other people have mentioned other things Georgia did. She's insufferable. She wants to be her child's bff & not learn how to be a parent. You should NOT give up your entire life as a parent, bec you're human 1st. However, you must remember, you can't just do some things as you used to do. Some things should be cut down & some, completely eliminated. Georgia created problems & then tried to "shield" Ginny from those problems to look like the hero, once sh1t hits the fan. That's a horrible person.

I can say that yes, Georgia is not a good person but she is a good mother. She always finds a way to protect Ginny and make her happy, and Ginny treats Georgia like a monster I think Georgia deserves better❤

None of you all grew up with fucked parents that only cared about how they saw themselves. Georgia cares about image. How does she look to others. I was Ginny. (My mom didn’t kill others but did other shit to get her way). On the surface level it seems like Ginny is being ungrateful. But Ginny is reacting anyone else would, she was lied to her entire life, her whole life is surrounded by georgias boyfriends or decisions. Ginny never got to develop her own personality because it was always so dependent on her mother. Then anytime she’d find comfort in anything other than her mother (like her dad) Georgia would always be in the way and Georgia always came first.
