RTX 3050 vs 1080p Gaming - Is this GPU that Bad?

Ғылым және технология

At 1080p gaming, the RTX 3050 8GB should perform ok. But it's bad because it's a bad value graphics card. But to discover how bad it is, it's time to test it at 1080p in some games!

If you are here to say an rtx3050 is garbage, think about the gt1030 but with ddr4 vram :) 3050 is more likely a decent card which it can let you play most of the games at high settings, but the price is just not ideal for the performance it offers..... And remember, not everyone is rich to buy a high end graphics card for gaming, talking about how "bad" is the rtx3050 but you can see there are people still buying the 6gb version for a budget build (of course its cheaper than the 8gb version) However i would not recommend buying the 8gb if you have the money just buy the rx6600 instead

its not garbage, gpu tier list shows that its a 1070 or 1660super/ti, it just depends on price and availability and exactly what year your building your PC, as the years go by people will go for the 3050 8gb instead of the 1070, all is relative

Some feedback for your videos, The audio mix is very low and should be closer to 0 than it is - this means people have to turn volume up more for your vids, then they get deafened on the yt adverts. Try to record your audio as close to 0 as possible that way your SNR will be better and volumes will be optimal. I'm rooting for you dude to do well and grow and other than the audio levels, I'd say you are on track 👍 If none of the above makes much sense just record a short vocal take on your mic and put it through Audacity to look at the waveform - the shape top and bottom limits should be very close to the top and bottom edges at all times - obviously you don't want too much clipping, but you also don't want low SNR either.

The bare minimum build gamers should be buying used these days is a 4th gen i7 build or newer as that's the first cpu generation to have AVX2 instruction sets which is needed and will be needed by certain games - Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn etc. Realistically though, you wouldn't even want that generation as minimum cpu core count you should be getting is 6 - this puts you looking at 5th gen at a minimum. Also 5th gen had the bonus of quad channel memory on X99 so that gives you a bit of extra lifespan before memory bandwidth becomes a factor compared to dual channel generations eg 4th gen Gotta be very careful when looking for older build upgrade paths regarding pricing... Sometimes older cpu/mobo used can work out the same price or more expensive than a fairly recent generation cpu/mobo as the PC used market is saturated with modern (eg last 5 years releases) options that are similar price yet give better price-performance than say an older 4th gen 5th gen 7th gen 8th/9th gen cpu/mobo combo - just watch out for very new generations of used eg 12th 13th 14th gen Intel as the pcore ecore latency and microstutter situation isn't ideal on newish gen used stuff. In your situation that would involve you having to buy newer DDR4 ram (which is cheaper priced now fortunately👍), so you might not even want to go that modern if you are happy with DDR3 still - me personally if I were you, I would want to move to at least a quad channel DDR3 5th gen x99 Intel build with a 5960k cpu minimum, or I would finally jump over to a cheap (but good price/performance) DDR4 build such as the 8th gen 8700k cpu (with a 9th gen Z390 motherboard) or 9th gen cpu eg 9900k for 8 cpu cores which will give you a bit longer before hitting limits years down the line (8th gen used build is exactly what I did last year, coming from an ancient i7 990x system). I avoided newer generations such as 12th, 13th, 14th gen Intel due to seeing the issues ecores were causing with latency etc. I've got my eye on 15th gen Intel cpus to see how they do and I am eagerly awaiting rtx 5000 Blackwell gpus to see if nvidia finally give the gamers the killshot fatality that prices them all out of new gpus from now on with ridiculous price points. We will never get to cloud gaming cuz of Nvidias approach, but we will see gamers only buying used, older generation gpus more as the years go forward, as that is the only way gamers with sensible gpu budgets (around £300/$300 or less), will be able to purchase gpu upgrades without getting ripped off. PC gaming for normal folk is in a very sorry state currently, but if nvidia keep releasing new generation gpus every 2 years, then over time things will normalise nicely for average gamers due to used gpus being where it's at for fairly reasonably priced gpu upgrades - performance is very good with newer gpu generations (vram amounts is another story currently eg 8gb vram is crazy low for 2024 games), it's just new pricing that is batshit crazy 🤪 HTH

@@ProYamYamPC The 1050 Ti was not the deal since the RX 470 was $175 and it was faster by a significant margin, since the RX 470 was also the PS4 Pro GPU. Then came Etherium in 2017 and the only GPU late gamers that didn't know of the 2016 PC Gaming Resurgence could get was the 1050 Ti.

@@ProYamYamPC I got it mainly for getting back into Blender in my freetime, after many years absence. The selling points of the RTX 3050 for me were: 1. Nvidia RTX GPU which is basically a must for Blender. 2. A fairly newer generation GPU that you could get a 6-pin variant. (HP Z440 dual 6-pin). 3. Not that RTX "3050" 6GB cut down nonsense. Compared to the dual Quadro M4000 I had before, the RTX 3050 seemed a smart upgrade.
