The more I watch these fall of big companies, the more I realize how these big companies fail: 1. Ego 2. Underestimating competition 3. Not accepting change
@apexone5502

Yep. You start seeing the pattern and those three things you've listed are typically the main reasons. Occasionally you see a video that shows how bad timing and some issues the company couldn't control were the reasons the company fell but more times than not, the reasons are comprised of the big three you had listed.

I'm one of the brave that switched from android and Apple to BB10, and was happy with the choice. Now I wouldn't mind if they came up with a dual-booting phone that would allow me to shut off android entirely and only use BB10 in peace and privacy, and maybe fire up android once in a while for some obscure app....or maybe just upgrade the existing Amazon Android runtime in the existing BB10 would be sufficient as long as the hardware was a little newer.

the_boon honestly I think the majority of people don’t feel a need constant innovation when our phones are now these little super computers in our pockets. I, and many other people I’m sure, enjoy the simplicity and pretty streamlined design of an iPhone. You always know what you’re going to get, and the upgraded cameras and whatnot are enough for the every day consumer like me. I can’t think of any crazy features I would like that I don’t already have, apart from maybe getting the headphone jack back lol. Until another company comes out with something that really changes the game, I think iPhones will stay on top. I haven’t heard of features from competitors such as androids that I’m just dying to have or that the iPhone doesn’t already have- and they don’t seem nearly as streamlined, simple, and familiar compared to the iPhone. I wish people who bagged iPhone for a lack of innovation would speak up more about what exactly they want to see and where improvements could be made.
I can’t believe that I actually wanted one of these when I was a kid.

Actually, all OEMs are doing the same at this point, not just Apple. There hasn't been much in the way of ground breaking innovation in the past 3-5 years except for Apple's Face ID and under the screen Touch ID on Android phones. Every year we get a better camera and a better processor, but most everything else is software innovation. Folding phones look promising, but the technology isn't there yet. Not to mention that they're priced far too high for most people to buy.

They were easy to Admin from an IT standpoint. BES, Email integration and device security was top notch. Best Blackberry they made had to be the Bold (9000 Series). But...times change and Tech changes and RIM refused to keep up wit either. Once TCL started making their devices I knew it was a wrap, I even tried my hardest to use the KEYone but it just wasn't right. I still have all my old BBs off in the drawer collecting dust now. Pearls, Curves, Bolds, 7290's, 8700g's....Ah well They had a good run.
I own a key2 and it's f amazing. It's the best way to make android liveable
They also didn't mention how many features the Blackberry had that made it 'corporate friendly'. Companies supplying them to their employees could disable the camera, restrict which apps could be used, restrict who could be contacted, etc. No other phones had that level of control at the time, and it's a big reason why BB got so many corporate contracts.
The only reason why blackberry failed is due to Lack of Innovation They didn't understand consumer behaviour due to which they didn't evolve.. Thus , it is very important for a brand to constant change..

Apple's iPhones are still surviving and I don't see much innovation from them in general... a little bit more battery here, a little extra camera there... But in the end it's just about the same slab of glass, with the same icons for everyone, same iOS features (or lack of), and it's boring as hell
@KBoon

@Emerald 8XG but what's to say the 2020 iPhone won't be yet another shiny piece of glass? Maybe it'll have a hole punch or pop-up selfie cam but WHO REALLY CARES about little gimmicks like this? Where are all the interesting designs (aside from Foldables) like sliders etc? How about a modular iPhone that you could clip on a keyboard if you wanted to or even a projector similar to what Motorola did with the Z series?

This is what’s going to happen to apple if they don’t stop bring a new phone out every two months. Edit: what I meant they bring a new phone out that’s look the same and act the same with new “features” that could actually just be added with an update.
