I was unsure if my almost 2 yr old gecko was of healthy weight, but I weighed him and he’s 42 grams!
I got my gecko I think when she was around 2 months and she was 7 grams when I got her. She’s now about 9-10 months at 17-18 grams and ever since I got her a 20 gal tank which holds humidity so much better than the previous tank and I’ve gotten crickets, her growth has spiked so much so I can def vouch for humidity and diet affecting growth!
I rescued a neglected gecko who was kept in a tiny tank that was hot and dry. He's at least a year old and the owners got him from a petsmart. When i got him one month ago he had no sign of balls and was barely 14 grams. Hes recently dropped obvious balls and over 4 weeks has gone up to 17 grams. He's so happy now and absolutely loves being handled.
Omg so cute! I love him when he's eating trying to go after those crickets!! Also, thank you for the information. Great video 👍
I’m glad you’re doing something you enjoy I really did like you’re gaming videos but I’m just glad you’re happy with you’re new content

I just got my 10 gram gecko a few days ago and he is in a 18-18-36. He seems to be finding his food and loves to explore his enclosure. I haven’t seen him eat all of his food yet but he has pooped so I think that is a good sign. If I see he isn’t gaining weight I will get him a smaller enclosure but he seems to be doing good.
So thankful for this video. My crested was 2 grams when I got him. I've had him for a year and he's 26 grams. So this helped me figure out about how old he was given to me as well as reassuring me that he's doing well.
thank you for al your videos, i just bought my first 2 baby crested ans all your videos are quite informative.
THANK YOU! ..bought my cresties @ Rep Swap, got age, but in my excitement fail to weigh them. They look small to me(newbie), but according to that chart & your info, they are spot-on perfect. Thanks again!

I'm glad you found my video useful!
Thank you for this video! I got a gecko who's age is unknown, I've had her about 3-4 months and she's almost doubled her weight going from 8g to 13g, I'd guess she's about a year old!
Ooooh I was wanting something like this
My 4 week old gecko wasnt eating/growing until i put it in a large container. I use a file container from Wal-Mart (pretty large for a baby by your standard) but... He/she looked depressed in a small terrarium & wouldnt eat more than 2 licks if anything. (I had to resort to hand feeding and my cresty didn't eat anyway) I decided to use a large tub with more room & now my cresty jumps around and eats the entire little dime sized serving I give her & seems 100% happier. I do provide 2 food bowls tho to compensate for the size of the tub. I think the size of the tank can work for or against you per situation in terms of growth. My little bebe likes exploring so going bigger was the right decision in my case.
i was always worried my crested gecko wasnt the right weight for her age. but i feel better after watching this video. she turned 1 last month and is 24.69g

Love Goldens it's just a fast grower
Mine is 6 I just got him/ her from someone and I was wondering about this!
I got mine about 8 months ago but it doesn't seem to grow. I've tried insects and different pangea flavours, but it seems to stay around 10g. I do keep it in a big tank, but every night it usually sits on the food ledge.
I bought a crestie almost 2 weeks ago from a breeder. It will be 7 months old in a few days. I had seen pictures and knew it was small but I didn't realise just how small it was until I picked it up and got home. I weighed it today and it's 2,5 grams. I understand there are slow growers but it just seem crazy that it's at the weight of a hatchling. The breeder said that I could put food in its cage now, BUT she has been feeding it while having it in her hand, as a precaution. My interpretation of that is that the only time it has had food available is when she handles it. I feel like this could be a reason to its poor growth so far. Its sibling was a tiny bit bigger, it liked mealworms more than the smaller one, but it was still very small in photos. After I got it home it started eating on the 3rd night, and this week it has been eating every night. Putting a drop of honey in the pangea made it eat more than double the previous amount every night. I'm a bit worried about parasites but its stool looks just fine so I'm telling myself that it's most likely ok. Bummed it'll probably be a year until it's large enough to go in the large xtra tall exo terra I got it. Hoping for a growth spurt now that it's able to eat in private whenever it want to.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it starts to get on track to where it should be growth wise. Hand feeding shouldn't be done especially if that's the only way she was feeding the poor guy.

I got my crestie when he was 2 months old and he weight 1.9 grams, he's 7 months now and weighs 5 grams, but he looks fully healthy and he's on a healthy diet too. Pangea and gut loaded crickets, some are just slow growers. I noticed a spike in growth when I switched him to pangea though, so some foods deffinantly help more than others.
what weight is the cream gecko at back when the video was taken? trying to make comparisons to mine
My crestie is turning 6 months this month and it’s 23 grams... a tip I do is feed her Dubias and mealworms 1-2 times a week as a treat and offer variety of cgd

What do I do if my gecko is a little skinny and he doesn’t want to eat he’s food should I feed him the Pangea cricket mix and the fruit mix one?
Wow! My gecko is about 1 year old, and he is around 30 grams! He doesn't seem overweight though, his body is balanced, and his belly isn't out of proportion. I guess it was just a fast grower, idk.

Yeah that's pretty good
I have been stressed out about my gecko because I bought so many foods for it but it won’t eat any of it. What should I do?
My baby crestie is about 3 months old and it’s 7g 😅 I’m worried tbh that seems like a lot… I’m def ordering Pangea without insects
I have a baby crested gecko that is in a big tank but lots of places to hide? It’s okay right? And any tips on how to get my baby crested gecko to eat mealworms? She only eats live crickets and Pangea, but she sometimes eats dead mealworms but not live
What morph is that gecko? It’s pretty
So I bought a crested gecko about a week ago, and bought and 18 by 18 by 24 tank, because I didn't know any better. Will this seriously inhibit his growth or will he be okay if I can ensure he is eating and the temp and humidity are okay?
My gecko is around 5 grams and is in a big enclosure and seems to play around the whole enclosure. Should I let it stay in there or get a smaller enclosure until its larger?
I've had my crested gecko for about 5 months and she doesnt seem to be growing. I've made sure that she gets a proper diet, but i dont know whats happening. could this have something to do with the size of the tank?
So can someone tell me what they do for their gecko? You have repashy but do you also have a colony of dubai? A little colony of mealworms? Im about to buy 2 little ones and would like to have everything setup first. Plz someone give me some guidance?
my crestie is 5.5 inches do you have any idea of how old it can be by the length of it? thanks!
where do you recommend i buy crickets
I have a 5 week old crested gecko in a 5 gallon tall tank is that good

This is a great video, thanks! I just want to mention, I was a Operations Manager at Petco and we have to gut load our crickets, it is policy. They use Flukers Gut Load on all the crickets, so if you purchase from Petco you do not need to dust your crickets.
I just got a baby. It is about a month old, I tried crickets at 3 weeks but it was not interested at all. How do I start it on insects if it won't hunt them?
my crested gecko is 8 1/2 months old and 5 grams. She looks healthy and I watch her eat and drink multiple times a week and she is pooping. Should I be worried?
Can I feed my juvie crestie 2 crickets everyday in addition to the Pangea/Repashy mix everyday instead of 10 crickets once a week? I always have the CGD in the tank, but noticed she really loves her crickets. Got her from Petco, where the tank always had tons of crickets. I gutload the crickets and dust every time. I’ve had her about two months and she’s gained 3g (5g->8g). I don’t want her to grow too quickly, but want to make sure she’s happy and eating. I can’t get her to eat out of my hand or in front of me. If I turn off the light, then she’ll eat the crickets. Just never see her eat the CGD Tank temp: 70-78F Humidity: 40-80%

You can try feeding less crickets and more diet. They are very small so you might not notice her eating the diet.
I’m looking at getting a crested gecko and want to keep it in a large critter keeper when I first get it but I don’t know when I will need to upgrade it to a bigger tank for example a large exo terra ?? I don’t want to put it under pressure by bring in a tank to small , thanks for reading 🦎🦎💕🦎💕🦎💕

Crystal Waters it depends on the age of the crestie, a baby should be in a smaller vivarium so it’s not overwhelmed. Yet an adult or older juvenile should be kept in a larger vivarium. I don’t recommend a cricket keeper as a vivarium has all the necessary ventilation and is best at keeping humidity. But an exo terra is much more suitable, they need enough height to be able to climb, I’d invest if you want the best for your gecko.
Hello! thanks for the video is very good for the beginners! i got a gecko a week ago and i let her to be for some days, and i gave food as the guy who sold her to me told me, today we controlled her weight and she is 5 gr, and she is 8 months old, i contact him and he always says don´tworry about that, anyway i found your video and i wonder what i sould do, i live in Sweden and we don´t find crickets that they sell alive :( we have her in a 30x30x45 terrarium, she is like really active at night, and when i feed she eats really well, so i am very worry i would not like to lose her :(

I recently got 2 crested geckos they’re siblings and one is much bigger 9 grams and the other is only 3 grams. The shop got them in October so they’re at least 7 months old maximum 9 I would say. The big one is eating amazingly so he’s no issue with him, but the little one I’m worried about, he’s started eating cdg really well with help. (Kinda like spoon feeding he won’t eat by himself) I think he’s too small for locust because they frighten him. Should I be worried or do you have any advice?

My gecko Was born In 2018 He only weights 16 grams we bought Him 2 Months ago we Are trying to Get Him a bit chubbyer
Petco feeds their crickets calcium enriched diets hence they're always gutloaded
Petcos definitely gut-load the crickets they get with Fluker's high calcium diet. I feed my geckos with Repashy mostly and mix up different Pangaea flavors every so often. Roaches help to put weight on also. Both of mine are around 44 grams now, aged 18 months and 2 1/2 years.
Why is it not the best to start them off in a 18 by 18 by 24? Just wondering because im buying one soon and i just wana make sure he’s comfortable. I also live in Minnesota so i feel that it would be easier to get a bigger tank that i can warm up easier with heat lamps. Any comments?

An 18x18x24 is really big for a little baby, they'll grow faster if they're in a smaller tank. It really depends how big the gecko is that you're getting.
My 7 month gecko is only 3.04g. It eats, poops and is active and seems healthy and happy. I feed crickets twice a week and it eats 4-5 crickets and is always hungry for them. Maybe I’ve just got a slow grower?

SGReptiles most sites say 40-80% RH. So you’re saying the tank humidity during the day should dry out to 50% (lowest), then at night be 70%? I have an automatic misting system (monsoon) and pretty dry air. I usually mist in the morning and during the afternoon it gets to 40%, then it goes off at night before the lights go out and is 70-80%. Just curious why you say the low point should be higher (50%) and the highest be lowered to 70%? Does the 10% change really make a difference? Just curious since I’ve read 40-80% and am a new crestie owner. Appreciate any info you can provide
