How Bhutan became a carbon-negative country?

Owing to low carbon emissions and a high level of carbon sequestration, Bhutan is the only carbon-negative country in the world.

Proud Bhutanese here…. All this is thanks to our visionary 4th monarch… His majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck… ( plz look him up if u have the time) …. Here’s a few notable things he did besides the far sighted policies implemented… 1. Granted democracy to the people without people asking for it. 2. When the country’s sovereignty was threatened by insurgents, although we were outnumbered, the then king himself lead the soldiers into the battle field and flushed them out.. 3. Handed over the throne to the present king at the age of 53 years whilst he could’ve remained on the throne like the rest of the world leaders do… 4. I mean our king basically lives in a small cottage… 5. Came up with the idea to build his nation on the basis of GNH ( gross national happiness) than GDP…. @ the age of 17…. ( one of the main 4 pillars is “conservation of environment” Which is why even after decades later.. we still have a forest cover of 70 percent and we remain carbon negative) Plz take ur time to verify this people… and drop a like if he deserves The Noble Prize ……..

Haven't you watched the report well??? Bhutan emits 2.2 M tonnes of CO2 but absorbs 6 M tonnes of CO2. Whose extra 3.8 M tonnes of CO2 is it absorbing? Bhutan is already contributing to the world by absorbing more CO2 than it emits. Hope you will understand the its contribution if u have a little brain!!!

Yes indeed bhutan country as a whole is carbon negative due to more than 70% forest cover. But on the city level, it proves otherwise, thimpu capital’s air quality is causing risk to peoples health, population increased as well as increase in cars per capita. My recent visit to thimpu was not an impressive one due to suffocated air quality trapped in the valley.

What a bull story. Thimphu does have cars but not to the extent as you mentioned and if Thimphu is polluted according to your super brain then it must be hell in most parts of the world.

@@heyim Do you even think what you are saying. I have been educated outside since my primary school days and graduated from a foreign university. @@metalhead1899 it wasn't us who assumed. You assumed that we are jealous about your small country. And if I don't think what I say then how would I write without thinking...come on!! Where is your logic here? And you maybe from those few people to come back and serve your small country. But majority talks ! Most of Bhutanese are outside their own country in the name of study and staying illegally and working for money. Have you ever heard about American staying illegally in other country. Because American and Australian provides better job for the ppl and better money. If your government could have provide better jobs for the citizens. You guys won't have to go out of your country and work somewhere else as being a labor. And what I'm saying is from what I have seen and heard. And why are you boasting about your study in other country and getting job offer there. Seems so cheap! 🤣 and I bet that you also have some cousins or family who are in foreign country in the name of study and working there. Don't be pathetic 🤣.... also the name metal head ! Wow suits you. Hard to know what's going around in the world and hard to get in the head. Because it's metal head.... however open up Mrs/Mr. Explore.
