CJ Stroud is not what many rookies need or have to be so I'm not going to compare. But as for Bryce he is soft af, NFL requires focus on football and pushing yourself to the limit, he better find his inner beast and then think only in terms of win, focus on your job only, take no failure as an option, he is a scatter brain softy in terms of NFL

2 things can be true. 1. Stroud is a much better QB himself 2. His situation was special as well. Nico Collins is easiky a top 10 WR. The playcaller is beyond special and inflates stats of CJ. Cj is a good but not great starter. Bryce a solid backup QB

I think he’s shown some flashes of talent, but the panthers have a history of incompetence so I don’t think they’ll make the moves necessary to really be that different of a team next year

A few things to note. The “Tepper overruled Reich” rumor was never confirmed and Reich denied it. Plus the GM is in charge of the draft anyways. On a separate note, winning the heisman does not mean you’re objectively the best player in football, it means you’re perceived as the best player by the people who give the award. The video was mostly well done, but try to watch out for logical fallacies in the future. Also, it’s fine to use rumors as evidence, but be sure to preface them as such.

So where your off is that the panthers had a much better team than the Texans proven by the panthers having to trade UP, and the Texans actually deserved the #1 by how bad they were over the bears.

Give him a o-line a receiver that can separate/ Wr 1 and a good head coach, he’ll probably be successful, he has one year down so he should be more comfortable year 2

It doesn't help that the Panthers have nobody else to help on offense

Isn't it true that many #1 picks just become journeyman or end up decent but not great or they become pretty good but it takes a lot longer than expected? Goff, Baker, Winston, Bradford, Alex Smith, Carson Palmer, and David Carr. All selected #1 since 2000. This list does not include the total busts

Peyton Manning became legendary very much living up to the Number 1draft pick. Cam Newton also did that. Andrew Luck before he got injured.

Oh think and hope he does better this year I’m sure he has talked to Stroud on the phone and that might make a difference this year Stroud probably encouraged him not to give up all he has to do is look at tapes of stroud and try to mimic him if his line will let him

Anyone who really watched him play last year knows he played well but his team was not even playing

We have no idea how good or bad Bryce is. With the leadership void he started his career with, he is a total question mark. I think the scouting reports are the most accurate info to look at. If the Panthers bring back Steve Wilks they will easily win the division next year.

Bryce Young was way over drafted… It’s not his fault Who would think putting a 5’9” kid behind a O-line of 6’2”+ grown ass men along with giants on whatever D-Line they are playing🤷🤦 He can’t see the middle of the field he can barely see where pressure is coming from…. He played on a team of Avengers with the GOAT CFB coach that made people think he could emulate Drew Brees…. Without realizing Brees is 1 of 1 and will never be replicated. I feel bad for the kid☹️😞 It’s not gonna end well😖

The Panthers offense had so many issues, but the biggest had to be the scheme Reich made. He wanted a pure pocket passer, and the plays showed that. Bryce isnt a pure pocket passer, and he was stuck in a scheme he didn't fit, with insufficient support from his WRs, Run game or Oline. He needs a 2nd season with support and should improve. But, if he does improve, he does deserve a 3rd season and I think Carolina will be competitive by his 3rd year

So let me get this straight......coming out of college his arm strength, size and overall athleticism were all concerns with Bryce young. The upside was supposedly his timing and anticipation and his "field smarts". If he's not a pocket passer and let's be honest he hasn't successfully read a defense yet, how can you possibly believe he's going to be good? All the concerns are still there and he has yet to show any of the upside

He is a pure pocket passer, the issue is the line didn’t allow him the time to get through reads AND the receiving corp could not win on the line of scrimmage.

Its like the dog swallowed Momma's wedding ring. All we can do is wait for the thing to pass and polish the shit off the diamond. Check some stats on top QBs like Manning in thier first year. They are mostly terrible. Carolina just invented a new kind of terrible.

I heard Bryce Young was the black version of Drew Brees, complete with the number 9, same jersey as Breesus! Youngsus doesn't have the same ring though! Bryce is like Link and Tepper is like Ganon from Legend of Zelda, ie his evil father in law! LOL

Football is a team sport. There were many parts of that team that failed. Coaching and scheme were horrible, O-line is geared to be run first and was never used that way while also decimated by injuries, receivers even on best days had issues with getting open, and Bryce had issues as well. Give it a year with a scheme to his strengths and we can find out if he is Manziel 2.0 or not.

On a side note, is David Tepper in need of a moustache? That bald head would go great with a moustache, ask Steve Harvey! Tepper is a billionaire rival of Donald Trump, and both are control freaks, but I think Tepper wins the Tepper mental award. Punsters, I am with you......

People need to hold off on criticism of rookie players who actually see the field, regardless of position. QBs, especially. CJ Stroud is a generational phenomenon; most don't even sniff his level of success until Year 3, at the earliest (if ever). Bryce is no exception. Forget the talent around him, he just wasn't ready. And that's OK -- and the organization's fault. Remember, Mahomes sat one year, A-Rod sat 3, Love sat 3. And look at the results..... Needs to be a consensus among NFL teams to sit their QBs at least a year UNLESS they definitively beat out a competent vet starter in training camp and preseason. I doubt Bryce did that to Dalton -- and it wound up costing CAR the #1 pick. Dalton prolly would have won a few games to get them to #4 or #5 pick in this year's Draft; if he started off 0-4, or something, THEN bring in Bryce. O Line is Trash; Thielen is your best receiver; former coach Reich works better with vets, and running game supported nothing. Bryce played great at ALA with great players; how many college QBs play for bad programs and still Show Out in NFL?

The Carolina Panthers are managed worse than a key west Hooters

Dell was better than Mingo, Chark had one good season, Theilin is old and slow and that'd why Vikings let him go. Sanders suck and Chubba had more rushing yards. Panthers both starting Guards were hurt all season and the backups played horrible. To top it off, Frank Reich is a horrible head coach that didn't want Bryce and set him up to fail.

Tepper didn't overrule reich. Where does this lie come from??

Dude you need to look at tape from Bryce’s college. I hear a lot how accurate he is , but he is only accurate when he has a clean pocket, which isn’t often in NFL even with the best line. He has to plant his foot to drive the ball with power, which Murray doesn’t have to do with his arm strength. We also cannot forget how much more athletic Murray is too. Bryce will at best only be a Backup

Panthers drafted Mingo, who was drafted before Dell. Thielen, Sanders, and Chark were all pro bowlers before they came to Carolina. The difference is Stroud can elevate a mediocre team while Bryce can’t.

I don’t think Bryce look good in college because of the talent around him, I think he looked good because of the talent he played against. No, the difference is simple, stroud actually had a line to protect him and Bryce doesn’t. He’s the most pressured and one of the most sacked QBs kn the league. Ask Joe burrow how it’s like trying to elevate a team with no offensive line, dude tore his ACL getting hit like Bryce.

Bryce Young, Travon Walker Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray, Baker, Myles Garret, Goff, Winston, Clowney, Eric Fisher, Luck, Cam Newton, Bradford, Jake Long, Stafford, Jamarcus Russel, Mario Williams, Eli Manning. All but 5 of them made the pro bowl and two of those are the most recent ones. Excluding them. 18/20 made the pro bowl or better. Which is 90%

@@arxcha. I guess if that's the metric you are using. The Pro Bowl kind of a joke now days. The measure of success is generally tied to draft position (Whether right or wrong, doesn't matter). I count 4 out of the 20 I would consider a worthy pick at number 1. The rest were JAGs with a good season here or there.

I like Bryce but you guys can’t downplay the WR core he had. Those guys are just like any other receivers any other team would pick up and probably be ok so don’t act like he has a XFL roster because if actually had decent QB play the Panthers may have been alright. Carolina's receivers we're league worst at getting open, that's provably true. Take it from me, I watched all of our games.
