Her entire thing is stupid for the effort of beating her you get a mediocre sword that doesn't have the high defense when using it's ability, literally anything can knock you out of it plus it does no damage even boosted. The other option is an incantation that does not real damage is hard to get off and even when it is hit still doesn't do much. The great rune let's you heal when you attack which is only useful for certain builds and shit

Malenia's great rune is blood born rally mechanic but worse as every weapon in Bloodborne it's flash compared to elden ring weapons and it nerfs estus for some God damn reason.

I mean godricks rune is great at the beggining. Once you get to high level malenia rune is infinitely better because plus 5 to every stars have really bad returns once you reached the soft caps in any of the stats that matter to you.

@@raiden3013 while it's true that Godrick's great rune falls of in the late game, it's also true that malenia's great rune it's worthless, as after receiving damage the best action will always be to go back to neutral and malenia's great rune requires you to attack out of hitstun without a care in the world for the millions of attacks enemies are doing to you, if the lifesteal was a passive effect like the greatstars great hammer it would be infinitely better as it allows the flow of combat to continue while giving you an objective advantage.

@@JAYbePRINCEthe only gay thing about it is it makes your flasks less effective, which if it was like a blood-borne mechanic You’d still have the effectiveness of your healing. It just means that you can also heal well attacking the enemy. Meaning, if you’re more aggressive and have a more aggressive weapons, it’s better to just go back in for an assault, but hers just says always go in for an assault, despite if it’s a good idea or not that’s what sucks about her rune like sometimes your weapons don’t call for you being super aggressive so of course The detriment of the rune is going to be a big detriment like, if it was the same rune without the fact that it weakens your flasks, it would be a wonderfully useable rune it’s just not

I was pretty much gonna comment this lmao. I've just started playing BloodBorne and I'm having a blast! Honestly, I wish this Rune was better because the mechanic works like a dream in BB. If there was a longer period of recovery time and you regained more health it could've been downright busted.

Her GR is infinitly better than Rykard's. It's the source of her life steal. This mechanic that allows her to solo entire late game areas with their boss at almost max health.

Meanwhile in bloodborne: We killed an absurd amount of chalice dungeon bosses for a blood gem that ain't even suitable for a proper run or it's for an entire different weapon build. But Good thing is, you got plenty to use to mix and match and bypass certain restrictions that some weapons have. Like some cant be infused regularly and blood gems can be that bypass. There not a whole lot of good gems that out do the other. You can say droplets but those are a pain to farm

How do you even find Godrick hard. There's far harder random enemies around the map especially in the River areas.

The other issue is availability. Malenia is usually the last boss people face, so there's no one worth using it on aside from pvp, and going into NG+ gets rid of all of your great runes anyway!

Lets not forget what happened when ranni was stuck in the jar

Bro when I got malenias rune I was so hyped I tried to make a build to kinda match hers using her weapon and all let’s just say I went to pay rennala a visit to pump my point into strength and dropped her rune and shitty weapon

My theory is that she needed it to kill herself. She only wanted to kill her body, but the Rune of Death is suposed to perma-kill the body AND the soul. In order to keep her sool safe she used the power of another GR to deflect the soul killing part to someone else, Godwyn being the perfect target. That's why they "died" at the same time. Once the murder is done, (Ranni's plans centered around using the GR a tarnished serving her would have collected), she doesn't need a GR anymore and discard it in order to not be targeted by the other demi-gods still in the war.

Malenia’s great rune has the some amount of use as me puting a bandage on a stab wound

Let's not forget that Malenia had to cheat in a fight against Radhan to beat him, and even then she didn't kill him she just drove him made with the scarlet rot.

Radahn's rune is great early game but it drops off later on. Once you level up and hit soft caps in the stats you want, adding 5 more levels to those stats will not do much to help you Although it helps in the sense that you can level vigor to 55 instead of 60, dex/arcane to 75 instead of 80, 61 strength instead of 66 Then you can put those points into other stats instead

I just learned what a great rune is

Malenia's great rune pretty much only works while trading in hyper armor. Her waterfowl dance allows you to take those hits and get the health back immediately, but it's very situational because of it. I think it would be more sensible to make it give you lifesteal all the time, but reducing crimson flasks effectiveness to essentially nothing. Then you could only heal by attacking, in the same way she functions during her boss fight.

Use blood tax with it. The aow combined with the great rune legit turns the game into BB Combine it with the godskin swaddling cloth if you want a little more reward for your aggression

To be honest malenia Your great Rune gives back the blood Borne feeling with the hitting enemies to hel after getting hit

And the fact that Godricks great rune is something you could get before any great rune.

I mean, use Malenia’s tune with the godskin cloth talisman. And you can actually heal up quickly with those and Millicent’s prosthesis for extra damage

Godricks, Great Rune, doing what it does gits his character really well. He's a pathetic demigod who is weaker than all of the others, so he does anything to get even a little bit of power, which includes grafting. So, his great rune giving him strength, which is not his own, fits his character.

I found out that the new pointy ironing boards(dueling shield) work very good with Malenia great rune, it mitigates the chip damage you get, and you are mostly full health while poking them with that board... it is funny :D spikey turtle 💪🏼💪🏼
