HOW BAD IS IT!!!????- 1968 Mustang teardown begins

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

On this episode I begin the real work of tearing down, planning and figuring out how far to take the first phase of Felony my 1968 Mustang Project. If I can sum it up in two words.....no sleep.
It's gonna be a hard road to Power Tour 2024 but I can pull it off.
See you on the road

What a flashback! I remember the day I got my 67, going through all the good and bad things on the car. A year later and the list is still long but I love it.

@@RidicULooseAutomotive no.. the list goes on, however the interest in things wanes and thats when you pick up another one. Haven't driven my 67 Cougar since 1987, before you were born I bet. Its here waiting for me to finish the GTOs and a Cutlass.. well, get them drivable/race ready. Cool project. I'll follow along.

I love the opening monologue. My project is a real slow-burner - currently approaching a decade and it's only recently got into paint - and I lot of people don't understand that it's about the journey as much as anything else. I've had people ask me, "But what will it be worth when it's done?" and I have to explain to them that, in my mind, I'll never be 'done' with it.

Advice when disassembling. Tag and bag. Things like the hand crank, screw and plastic isolating washer. This stuff is EZ to loose. The duct tape is probably so the. Body filter would stay on the roof and slow through. Looks like a candidate for a fastback conversion.

Felony has good bones overall and aside from the roof, tosses me back to the work on the 66. I know you’ll be able to save it for sure. It certainly looks like a 90’s resto with the motto "If you cant duck it, f*ck it" and utilization of the cave and pave method of body work. I truly feel that back then, some of the body repair specialists were sculptors more than repair people. YOU GOT THIS!!!

I wish I was there to thrash with you! But I just bought a 68 cougar in waaayy worse condition. Drug it out from under a carport. It hadn't run in 20 years. Towed it home and checked the fluids and run a fuel line from a jug. After couple times turning it over, busted off and ran! It starts and runs every time! No brakes though 😢. No hot rod power tour for me😢.

If I could make a suggestion? Whatever camera you are using is jumping around way too much. Like, getting sea sick amount! Try finding some better stabilization software or hardware and don’t jump around so much. Slow panning shots are better. Just a quick suggestion, otherwise great job on the channel. Looking forward to more of the Mustang series.
