    How many jobs would let you turn up late before you were asked not to bother coming in. What's happened at the Dogs has happened to every club that didn't foresee that letting go of all their veteran players without first making sure the culture was still alive, every single one of those clubs ended up with a terrible seasons until they had rebuilt the culture back up.

  • @kainoizking

    @kainoizking

    Exactly. And they’re trying to bring back retired legends to get around the boys to try and drive standards and revive the culture. Retired players don’t drive standards, from my experience neither do coaches for the most part. Standards are driven by the leadership group and the senior players that you train and play with day in and day out. They’re an absolute shambles right now.

    All negative about them at the moment. What about the positives. Preston, Alamoti, Wilson and Rajab all getting starts this year. Mahoney had a great start to the year before falling off the cliff. He looks exhausted. Okunbor started the year as a winger in reggiesand now playing forward in firsts. Kiraz and Avarillo good all year. Max King playing with one eye. Forward pack has tried hard despite missing pangai, thompson and kikau for most of the year. Young players like olopau and skilton coming through. Hang in there. It could be worse.... you could be dragons supporters!

    I wanted to hear from Braith alot more on this subject bc he's a Bulldog but Tallis interupts way to much and talks way to long about the same stuff it's great hearing from the players perspective but Tallis does it way to much and 9/10 you know he'll bring the Broncos and Wayne Bennett up It's really FN annoying

    "Standards have to change" - well stop the PR rhetoric and do it. For me Dogs players look like a team getting mixed messages but hey I could be completely wrong.Maybe time to cut the huge amount of dead wood/ex players around Ciraldo (eg Willie Mason) and give him FULL control as I really believe the old saying "too many cooks spoil the broth" is apt for Doggies right now. Fact is Dogs were performing better under Potter than they are now so Ciraldo's tough talking claim the club hasn't gone backwards is mere PR rhetoric. Anyone actually believing ALL the problems at Doggies is the players fault are deluded.

    most of the players these days are flowers anyway, standard training, how about we just get them to bounce around like Mary Poppins, dress them like ballerinas, no contact just prance around like flowers

    FOX going into damage control for the Bulldogs you mean. I find it hard to believe the players waited this long to blow up about the coach's methods. And players don't walk out of a club because they've been punished for being late. Happens all the time and they accept the punishment and move on. You can paint the players as villains if you like. But if just a fraction of what's been said is true then you have to ask questions about the coach's methods. Particularly his ability to communicate his vision to the players and his motivational techniques. The Bulldogs have got plenty of quality names. And yet they're performing like trash. These players never had problems at their previous clubs.

    Obviously the players aren't trying hard enough but I think Ciraldo is cooked. Gus has joked about wishing the season was over already. In hindsight Ciraldo needed to bring a couple of 'his' men with him like an Andrew Webster to help him (get across all areas of managing the team). It's just alot of work for one person and there is too much expected of him. Gus said it's going to be a very hard job for 18 months, but Ciraldo doesn't stand a chance handling everything from man management, tactics and coaching.
