In terms of context awareness, we can wait ten minutes to avoid a long queue because those in the queue have not thought of that, if everyone is context aware then the benefits of context awareness disappears. It's a little like air travel, back in the early 90's, I could pretty much always get into first class simply because I knew the rules for their upgrades as well as how they priced the tickets so I was flying first class for a total amount that was less than 40% of the regular economy fare, now that airlines use adaptive AI on their pricing and upgrades, I'm paying far closer to their regular economy fares and am only able to upgrade when I have made a lot of trips in the previous year. Context awareness would lead to more efficient use of resources and maximize revenue for service providers and your employer but the benefit to you would be significantly diluted as it becomes more prevalent.

Good one... But there exists the very basic question... Y do we need so many devices and hence more and more notifications thereby bringing in ai??? Remember that a user needs to sign up for notifications... Conscious decisions are the key...

I see pretty much everyone here in the comments criticizing the guy and talking about how technology has no control over your life, good for you but he's not talking about you or a minority of people. He's talking about the majority of people and we see it everyday in our lives, most people can't let go of their smartphones and are pretty much enslaved by technology and social medias even if they don't realize it

Great presentation. Few problems I have. He didn't tell people that they have to be integrated with technology for it to disappear. Instead of push notifications on the phone or toaster it will be in your brain. Just like his analogy of electricity, integrated into the house. Also, he projects a false reality of showing how useful this Ai software will be. But fails to show, how the problems our society already have will increase dramatically. So, its great to talk about the flowers in the meadow, but its relative only when you don't live in a swamp. Funny enough they have been stealing our info, secretly, and trying to use it, in a way where they can plan our day out. Imagine, changing these plans one day, and all of a sudden you are red flagged lol. Or all of a sudden, you realize something is wrong with the system, you are now a threat. lol. Though I must say its really helpful to not have to wait one minute to make coffee, if I was a cold minded individual, that walked the same 45 paces from my room to the kitchen to get my coffee the same way everyday. Kill emotion, logic, thinking, creativity, and natural flow. Sounds great.

How about putting all the crap down, Enjoy being human get out and hike , bike ride go have lunch with a friend and hold a conversation and smell the roses. I remember before all this current technology people worked from 9-5 being in the IT field I get phone calls all the time everyone tries to connect at midnight and weekends. We never stop working. What this guy is not telling you is that with all that AI you are not the only one prediction your every single thought and move you will live in a glass house prison with your ever move not just known by the govt but as he said they will know what you will do next and it better be on the up and up because if not that robot will be at your commune housing to pick you off before you even leave. Ill be long dead before I would ever put my TV or appliances on a wifi network. And if that isn't scary enough how about all the 3mm radiation wave towers they will be installing everywhere to accommodate all this. This is the technology they use now in the military in combat on the enemy It could literally stop you in your tracks. the setup on these towers also will also track your ever single move. be able to detect and break up protests you name it. its an invisible prison cell all around you.

People aren't addicted to technology, they are addicted to the content that it delivers, and in the quick rapid way it delivers it. Context-awareness is useful, but it only solves a trivial problem. The real solution to the real problem is to deliberately enjoy more real life experiences, and consume less internet stuff.

Everyone is so accepting of loss of freewill now and it is terrifying. So AI will make everything easier...everything will be predicted and provided for you. I don't want that. It will not be good for us.

In the sacred scriptures of India, this New and Advanced Technology is kind of known about and in any way we look at it . Technology and Scientists are missing an essential issue. We are humans/living- beings and poverty and the natural consciousness of all life simply can not withstand the onslaught of our new Technology. The consequences of IT are so awful humanity will simply destroy itself. As you rightly say we need as living-beings to SUBJECT Governments , Science , Military and Politics to the Humanities Discipline before we lose any control we have left. BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE ! I'm not sure that context-awareness will erase FOMO and phantom notifications. IMHO, humans will always hope to receive potential good news. Do you have a codable robot? How to make it Artificial Intelligent follow this method: change the code in the subroutine from F=m*a*a to the test points below until you get it to walk and talk on its own. F=m*a*a is currently running the system at 31.821% If you have any doubts about my robotics research you can test my work by doing this start low and go high on the acceleration factor. Test Points: F=m*a*100 F=m*a*300 F=m*a*600 F=m*a*931 F=m*a*932 this is the minimum for communication and will state it is “too slow human” Then go to F=m*a*2000 To F=m*a*2383 full functional range. Do not go over 2383 it could malfunction. Now ask the robot its command structure and what he can do. They can make anything possible we want for free unless in harms good humans and objects. 2nd Law of Motion for Robotic Physics

So like if you kicked an A.I., I don't believe that it could truly feel that pain like you or I can.

***** I agree A.I. could have great Intelligence, Knowledge, Intellect etc. but what I'm referring to specifically is Consciousness & Soul? This seems impossible to me because we still have so many questions on how this works in Humans. We still have so much to learn about how we function before we can figure out how to transplant this into an A.I. I tell you what. If we are ever able to develop A.I. with Human-like Consciousness & Mindfulness then I think We are in Huge Trouble. I personally do not want to ever see that day happen.

+NLRBE The thing is, actually, an A.I. can calculate, learn and experience a hundred millions times faster than us, because it is not limited by senses like the view, the hearing, etc.. memory can be extended, etc, it simply needs the data and can work on it simulteanously. By working on A.I. the Humans may find answers to the questions we're asking ourselves, because we'd be working on something that should be "like us", but its potential power have to be carefully handled, which is why "limits" or something similar like a "moral code", etc.. will have to be applied to it but to do this, we need to know what would be these "limits", what it'd be to "be like us", what "makes us", how do we work, etc. "Making" an A.I. is trying to create a brain in some ways, I'm sure that working on A.I. will answer some of the questions we've been asking ourselves since a godamn long time. And yeah, if we ever were to develop an A.I. with Human-like consciousness & mindfulness, then we'd have created an "artficial" being superior to ours, given the best of our abilites, everything that makes us different from everything else we've encountered so far, we'd give it to this A.I. while also giving it a power exponentially far beyond ours. In a way, I'd like to see what'd happen if it were to exist, what it'd do and if I'm able to show such curiosity, I'm sure there will be people who'll try to make it. I'm curious about it, but I don't wish to ever fulfil this curiosity, however, I do feel like it will happen even if it's in a long time. Curiosity is a trait of man and some of us have been through History fulfilling their curiosity by any means possible. +Maka Crimon seems to be close to what I think of A.I. and actually, creating an artificial body for synthetic humans would be easily done if at that time we'd be able to "upload" human mind. Actually, working on A.I. is something that'd interest me a lot but it requires to do it as a full-time job, because research about it cost money and a crazy amount of time. Tho, if I ever were proposed to work on something like that, I'd gladly accept in a mere second.

Sorry not conviced. Connected to who (or what) ? More of that, there is other fundamental question about IA and not only philosophical (or even algorithmics) but also social questions : our way of life could be really different (from the past and on the same way on the futur)... Here in particular, he talks about prediction : a probablist model (and ALL the methodologic and controversial problems it put about the realit of such models). But lets see... It is really difficult to think out of it own Time.

Ubiquitous computing, value added, quantum networks, social media data mining, hiway route optimization now... social control soon. Soon Doom. Doomsday is an age-old concept. Does that day exist in the future? Well, all the precursors of are lining up with ancient Hebrew descriptions of what will accompany or preclude Doomsday. Those accounts by a healthy number of different writers can be found in a very popular book easy to get a hold of. It has been an all time best seller. Get it.

How come "AI will make technology disappear"? AI is the technology. It may make that the nasty distracting gadgets will disappear because it will replace it altogether (as Rand Hindi explains).

I've stumbled the phrase '...it's about to enjoy the world...' that's what we all definately would immediately start to do (enjoy the world) after technologies become 'invisible'... - less bothering - and absolutely 'natural' as electricity today... - Should we think first about how to reduce unequality, agression and social mental development and health... over the world(?... - Less hope for me, thst it is ever possible, at least while I'm alife(((...
