I’m on the fence, they get above .500 and I’ll start to believe a bit, they’ve got pieces, but altogether they aren’t quite there.

Nice little run over the last week plus. They are still 13 games out of the division lead and 7 games out of the wild card. I’ll invest when Illitch does.

I'm not. I only watch the occasional game if I'm relaxing during my downtime and it happens to be on KZread TV (meaning not on BSD).

My main question is this, the tigers two all stars first tarik skubal is likely to finish with 20 wins and close to 300 strikeouts, and then riley will likely hit 40 plus homers. So my question is, would the tigers listen to offers on either of them? I mean it's clear to me they're not gonna pay them, so why not get as much as you can for them? You could turn skubal and green into 4 or five hitters and or pitchers. The tigers even before scott harris have traded away players before they'd have to give them a big contract, as far as players they drafted or got from someone else's minor league system. Scherzer, verlander, Porcello, Curtis granderson, Austin Jackson, among others. Think of this, every single starter from the 2014 tigers has won at least one world series after being traded and I think 3 of the five starters on that staff have won cy young awards since getting traded, and the tigers have gotten next to nothing for those players. The rumor is that if the tigers traded Flaherty to the braves, which was proposed, the tigers could get the braves number 2 prospect in return, imagine what they could get for skubal and greene, two players that there's no chance they're gonna be willing to pay.

what makes you so confident we aren't paying those guys lol. new owner has been much cheaper than his father but cmon give the guy some credit we spent 30 million on free agents this offseason (awful use of the money but still we spent it) and scott harris has point blank said we will spend more money in the future. there is literally no reason to think we wont pay skub and greene that's a completely baseless claim.

If Kenta Maeda retired last year and AJ bunted runners over to start the 10th, the Tigers would have 20 more wins this year.

Sometimes that can work out moving a starter into a long relief role. The tigers have three former starters in long relief roles, and they're doing well at it, I don't see maeda working out in that area. Cut your losses and cut him loose. Think of this they have 11 loses in starts by maeda, if they had at least an average starter maybe they could have won say 5 or 6 of those games, and maybe the playoffs would look a little more reasonable.

I will give you information that I just read.. Did you know that this year's mlb draft is the weakest for high school prospects in memory. So if Harris sticks will high schoolers and not college players than you may have this ammunition to work with. All major league scouts are saying is high school crop is really poor. So do an interview with a major league scout before the draft

Trade flaherty, go sign Trevor Bauer for nothing lose nothing in pitching and gain a bat. Urshella and Kelly get you another bat and the rest you call up from Toledo for depth and then see what needs to be added in the offseason. Smart move but won’t ever happen

Tell us exactly what we can do with Maeda besides cutting him? He's among the league worst in almost every pitching stat he qualifies for, he's 36 years old, and he's in the first year of a $24M contract. Who is in the market for that?

It's not quite the same without Terry. They had an interplay that was genuine and fun to listen to, whether you like sports or not. Rico is not a good replacement for terry. I think Matt shepherd would be better, he's more knowledgeable about sports. I could do a better job than Rico. If Terry was no longer able to do the show due to health reasons than have Mike do the show alone.

@@mr.hulotsholidayI saw Terry on Woodwardsports………Trust me this show is much better without him. I’ve listened to him countless times and let me tell you Rico may not be good but he’s definitely better than Terry is right now. In Terrys prime before his career altering stroke, Rico couldn’t even hold a candle to Terry. Now though? Rico is definitely better because he at least has personality, you listen to Terry now on Woodwardsports and it’s like all of his personality is gone, he’s so boring to listen to now, and that should really tell you how much that stroke affected his career because he used to have so much personality which is why people on the Valenti show loved him.

@@soarinskies1105I mean, Terry seemed himself during the brief period he came back before his retirement. More likely, it's just the years catching up to him. Dude's 65 and has been off the air for 7 years. Retirement ages people.
