My brothers and sisters what we just witnessed was a total masterpiece. The musicians were from another planet. When you listen to this piece from any standpoint how the drummer Larnell Lewis was holding down this intricate musical piece smiling and having fun for 10 minutes not missing one note was just phenomenal. The keyboard soloist Corey Henry just totally killed his solo smiling and having fun was an outer body experience. You can see how this brother is unbelievably gifted to play and express himself so effortlessly. Every horn player, bassist and percussionist were so musically tight that they all deserve their spot on any musicians playlist. Oh, let me not forget to mention the writer of this piece is brilliant as well. Snarky Puppy WOW 😳 This is a jam that bought me back to the late sixties seventies when just jamming peaked my interest. These musicians are at an awesomely high level and should be recognized as being musical geniuses.

Larnell was called in to play and fly from Canada the night before. Their regular drummer let his passport expire and could not fly to the Netherlands where this was recorded. Larnell learned the drum part on the flight over. One rehearsal then live recording. WTF???

Just a side note - Mike League, the bassist and leader, wrote this on the plane ride over to Europe. He was flying Air Lingus, so he just named the tune, "Lingus"

2 fun thing about this recording. The drummer Larnell Lewis learned this entire set on the flight over and the other keyboard player who is so impressed and can't handle it is Shaun Martin, 4-times Grammy winner :D.

Jacob Collier is technically brilliant, but no soul at all. Listening to him play is like listening to a maths lesson. Bob Reynolds on the other hand.... just listen to Snarky Puppy's Outlier. You'll know what I mean 😉
