She with an entire Tal'Darim mothership managed to kill an entire 15 units, most of which were marines. Pretty sure she actually managed to be cost negative in that engagement.

GGG’s hunter seeker friendly fire did more damage than Jin’s forces did.

Jinara is very useful for Alarak. He sends her in every time: - he can't just retreat or end the combat, without loosing face - but also secretly wants to loose it for strategic reasons (allowing Nova to get the Terazene, allowing Nova to continue investigating, allowing Nova to survive to kill General Davis)

Alarak literally doesn't care about the outcome of the invasion: if Ji'nara win it is good for him, if Ji'nara lose it is still good for him. Either result will still strengthen his status, "my army was never that weak" or "that's why she will never become Highlord"

Toggling allied colors on the minimap would probably help out a lot with visual clarity

Alarak sure likes testing Ji'nara with some pretty expensive stuff. The resources invested into this mission alone is probably close to the Golden Armada when Amon sends it after the Protoss to make them kill their allies.

I'm confident Alarak just wants an incompetent first ascendant so his position is safe from surprise Rak Shirs. He can do Alarak covert ops political assassinations while they are onto Jinara budget.

@@raizan5946 but on the other hand, incurring massive military losses in rather quick succession isn't exactly the best look politically. Some could even come to question whether Alarak is worthy of his position. Autocrats tend to rely a lot on an image of military superiority to retain their power structures. Yes, Ji'nara is the one getting the losses on the ground but it's Alarak who orders her into these engagement and allocates the resources. I'unno. Maybe he's legit just trying to deplete the Tal'darim military resources to maintain relative peace with the other factions while also maintaining control? You know, silence the Eagles who think now is a good time to vie for supremacy in the sector. Highlord Alarak, Peacebringer. Maybe we should nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize.

@@Salted_Fysh Hahaha it is horrible. It is just bad writing, it pains me that they do that with the only race that ISN'T able to afford loses due to low birth rates. They expected people to throw logic out the window, or didn't stop to think why no one batted an eye on Wings of Liberty (tribal, supposedly on a planet per planet Tal'darim with a faceless generic Tal'darim shaman leader) or that we fill in the gap that the tal'darim incur no loses and that they always warp out or that they don't punish failure. Like Alarak aside, someone would have dethroned Ji'nara or tried to in between missions.

I like to think that Ji'Nara is just so prideful that she doesn't actually uses more advanced tactics and just charge head first into issues, and to be fair Alarak is just like her, the only reason we think otherwise is because in the mission he is in it's a no build and in the def mission we help him (after he just charges into amon and dies easily)

That just goes to show the quality of terran weaponry! (Jinara is just that bad of a commander that she sent everything in semi-manageable waves)

Honestly, I think Ji'nara is perfect the way she is, even if it is accidental. If I understand it right, the whole Tal'darim society is built around the Chain of Ascension, it being the only way to gain command. Meaning, they are selecting for people being good in 1v1 fights, then expecting them to be good at tactics and organization. Their commanders being incompetent and their entire society being dysfunctional is thus perfectly lore accurate. They are essentially a bunch of edgy LARPers pretending to be a military chain of command, when they are, in fact, only good at murder.

Rak'Shir isn't just a 1v1, it's a test of how much support they can get and maintain (whether through fear or loyalty) while sabotaging the other guy's support.

9:55 "ravens are gonna increase until we have unlimited raven" And we shall call it... the unlimited rave works.

well the Mothership attack has been changed from firing 6 times in a row for 1.75s cooldown to fire 1 time and only have 0.25s cooldown, so it can fire a lot quicker, and don't waste DPS on a Marine or something and yea, final mission is massively modify, it is truly, the END GAME.

The Reducks visor is just so entertaining watching units get turned into ducks. 8:22 And the "Nano Machines!!!!" upgrade at the Research Facility is amazing. All it needs is "Son" at the end and it will be perfect. I can't wait for the final mission with that final episode tease Grant gave us.

I can totally hear Alarak snorting disdainfully, with or without a nose!

Oh, I love Depot Dave side project: Supply Alley - he sure needed a break from Depot Canyon.

last time a played this mission i also used a lot of rivens with this upgrade. i destroyed my entire army once with this splash damage, but when i get more carefull and made more ravens i could destroy mother ships with one attack

I feel like this mission gets 'busy' looking even in the stock campaign, so I can understand why it's difficult for modders to manage any additions while still keeping the mission readable.

Those Ravens would get a huge buff in Co-op: no splash damage They’d probably have to be nerfed into the ground after that, lol

It's a shame that Grant didn't notice the gas geysers spread out around the map. I would have liked to see the allies fully buffed up earlier

GGG, buddy, have the Tal'Darim ever not sucked? They got a fully prepped based with a lot of defense on much higher ground surrounding Jim his army, they got giant wall of flames rushing the player, they got a huge field which literally shreds everything apart on the molecular level and they still lost every time. Yeah, they suck. 😜

Why does Nova's look change everytime? She looks different on WoL, Nova Covert Ops and also Heroes of the Storm.

It’s mostly just stylistic choices, she otherwise doesn’t really look that different between those appearances beyond the quality of her cutscene portrait. If you wanted a lore reason WoL/HotS take place in the same year when nova is like, 18 or 19 or something (bizarrely Tosh is only a max of a year or so older than her, despite how he looks) while NCO takes place about half a decade after the main story of SC2, so she’s hitting mid twenties now while she was a teen during the other campaigns

Because of Heroes of the Storm, ironically. Nova was basically an easter egg, the protagonist if an unreleased game. Her looks aren't that good, she's not supposed to be hot. But then Blizzard needed more heroes for their DotA. And you want your heroes to be visually appealing. So they made her into a sex symbol, remade her face and proportions. And to solidify her place made an EPISODIC EXPANSION for SC2 that failed sadly.

Those EMP trucks... are they driven by Stone? Is Stone and his trucks still a meme?
