I noticed this too. Also, they aren't using the best quality of apples as he's stated several times. It just doesn't make sense to use grade A apples for juicing when you can send those to the stores and restaurants.

@@badeadrian I know not all companies remove the skin also known as peel for making apple juice and this will depend on the taste they are after or marketing they want to use I.E 100% natural apple juice, however some companies do remove the skin and it is sold separately to be used in other industries such as health foods or flavourings. but your comment is still valid most of the time.

a friend was working in such a factory. the crashed apples at the bottom of the truck, already smelling very bad were just added to the process. one time a full pallet of packed juice was broken, some 100 liters of juice on the floor, which was added again to the process, you know profit. he never drank any fruit juice in his life after. then printing "Natura" on the package, so cute... maybe also bio and organic :)

At this scale it's not worth picking 100 liters off the floor and putting back into the system, it's way cheaper to just mop it down the drain.

My question is..... How do they heat the leftover pieces of skin and seeds to produce methane? How many barrels of oil does it take to make a gallon of methane? What they should be doing is turning the leftovers into animal feed !!!

I think in bio gas - methan tanks, so its composting, after use it like a fertilizer. So its not necessary to heat it.
