Way back when the channel was much smaller you told some stories of your ex wife, so when Theresa came along i noticed how she became an asset in your life and i immediately took a liking to her. She’s one of the few people i’d call cool. And she does it all. Keeps a clean house, raises a kid, operates several machines, and mends them too. There are very few employees that are willing to learn all those things, let alone wives. Funniest thing is these racist folk couldn’t earn the respect of a woman like Theresa if they tried

Good show, it will plant corn like never before

The blades in the vacuum fans wear down over the years. Might be worth inspecting them. When you get it hooked to a tractor, run the vac fans, and pull the black end caps off on the ends of the main vac pipe-runs to suck all the loose dust and talc out of the main tubes.

I like watching work on machines. I learn things I don't know. So keep posting them.

Great job on the planter kits, the reasons why you do what you do and the tricks. Too bad a lot of views will not be watching because they know it all and don't need the tricks and reasons why. Let the haters talk shit. I know there are many like me that admire you and I have adopted some of your farming practices. It's great to have a wife that doesn't care to get dirty. My Papaw and Mamaw my Mom and Dad farmed together and now my wife and I are doing the same. She doesn't care to get dirty work on equipment and she is a hell of a hand when I am cutting bull calves she holds the tail and she hasn't gotten me kicked yet.

We have had vac planters for years and have never put those plugs in there and have never had a problem.

I’m a farmer from Nebraska and I run Esets also and I think you need to know some stuff before you go out planting. First 8 inches will not be enough vacuum for those meters. I find esets like at least 15 inches to keep from getting skips through the aggressive singlator. There are way more wear parts on those meters then you would think. Over the years I’ve replaced lid seals, knock out springs, singlators, and even the disks because of wear. Since you don’t know much on the history of acres through the meters I would look for a precision dealer and have the meters run on a test stand. It might save you a lot of frustration

I agree with you but the dealers around here are far and few between. I will be testing them before I go out a planting with them. I was thinking I should just replace all the doodads in there anyway just to be safe.

@@onelonleyfarmer really look over the disks. Watch for ovaled holes and spider webs in the bigger holes on the back side( I know this sounds obvious but it has happened to me more then once and it will plant fine other then having a skip every rotation. Esets are vastly superior to the standard vacuum disks because you can more or less ignore the vac settings. Another thing that is counterintuitive is that sometimes in light seed you can have skips due to too much vacuum, what happens is it will grab 2 seeds and when it hits the singlator it will knock both off, it’s only happened a few times over the 15 years I’ve used these meters but it’s a pain to figure out when you’re stuck in the mindset of more vac = less skips. I’m also a believer in RK products fix for gauge arm bushings. I hope this rambling helps you a little and I really enjoy your non bs approach to you tube

A mig welder would be great for jobs like that, Would be a good investment for all the repairs you do. Having had one for years it would be hard to get by without one. That planter will plant as good as a new when your done.

It's always fun when a guy can work with his wife. Once the kids get older my wife will be back out by my side also.

I repaired my closing arms this winter with the same kit, I used two vise grips to hold the race in place while welding, worked good

The kit should come w/ 2x machined blanks that take place of the bearing. Or use sacrificial ones.
