    Beth, Decided to review your tire pressure video before checking my tire pressure. Good thing I did. Very helpful as I was looking at the tire label that said 44 psi max. Then you showed the correct tire pressure is on the label inside the right cover. OMG !! at 44 psi my Ryker would be airborne. Thanks for the info.

    600 miles on my 900 ace, watched this, bought the gage. My front tires were at almost 29 and my rear was at 32!!! I bought links for the sway bar and was a tad disappointed that it still floated around on the highway. I took air out to 25 in front and 28 rear, much of my sway disappeared!! Thanks so much for pointing this out!!!

    A very important topic! The total area of the contact patch for grip from your tires is so small. Most riders don't think about the fact that all that power and speed is only touching the road in a few small spots. That makes the condition of the tires a matter of life and death. Check tire pressures and condition often. And when it comes time to replace tires, buy the very best tires you can afford.

    All good advice. I got a portable lithium battery powered tire inflator - I just set the pressure and it inflates right to where I need to be in seconds. These new lithium powered compressors are tiny, about the size of my coffee mug - so I can store it in my Frunk with other emergency supplies when traveling far. Easy to upkeep pressure on long hauls or re-inflate should I have to emergency repair a flat.

    Just as I search google and people are recommended 20 front and 28 rear. After I finished pumping the air for the rear tire. I came back inside and wondered why the big differences. Then I realized the recommended is for the rally model and mine is just the 900ACE. Your video is really helpful and thanks to you so much for the work. I adjust my front to 25 now. I am looking to see if it will make any difference.

    Nice video. There are several viewpoints on tire pressure. Some say go with the bike manufacturers recommendations. The pressures they suggest incorporate fuel mileage, tire wear, ride comfort and handling. The tire manufacturers also have recommended pressures and they are often at odds with the manufacturers. Can Am recommended 15 psi for the fronts on our Spyder RT but the mfg listed 15 as the minimum allowable pressure. The max was 30 psi and I run them at 20-25 psi normally for 2 up riding. The handling was much improved as was the mileage and wear. I tend to run just under the maximum the tire manufacturer recommends. I don't mind the harsher ride quality in exchange for better mileage and handling. Thanks and take care.

    Sam you are so right. Often what is written on the actual tire is very different then what is recommend by the bike or car. I do find my ride much rougher (feel every bump in the road) since I filled my tires to spec.

    I have been waiting for this so badly as I have requested this from you a few times too, thanks heaps Beth 💖 one question please, so if I check my tyre pressure at home while the tyres are not hot does it mean it’s not a good idea to fill them at petrol station later on either? As the tyres will be hot again? I don’t have anything at home to fill the tyres up! Thanks again Beth

    I have a battery-operated air compressor. You plug it in to charge it up, and it also serves as a 12-volt power source. You don't need anything big, and you can pick one up for $40 and up. I have a DieHard, and I think I paid $80 for it. It holds a charge for a long time!!

  • @RykerRydes

    @RykerRydes

    4 жыл бұрын

    That is a great question. If it were me. I would keep track of how low each tire is, and then add the appropriate air, at the gas station. So if you are short 10 psi, just fill it up 10psi regardless of the reading you get at the gas station. Then measure again the next day while cold, to verify or tweak.

  • @jimroscovius

    @jimroscovius

    4 жыл бұрын

    Depends upon how far you are from the gas station. If you don't have to go very fast, you can fill to the recommended PSI. If you have to travel a ways, then you are better off waiting, or following Beth's recommendations.

    @@djezza17 This is interesting topic. I am not too sure and don't want to give any bad info. Just make sure the front of your bike is not out in the road. And of course, always use your Emergancy brake!
