How An American Embraced Sikkhism And Found Sathya Sai | Yilmaz Singh |

Having grown up in a small village in south-eastern Pennsylvania, Yilmaz never imagined the gift that an American college would bestow on him - Sikkhism! And the sincere practice of that religion led him further to Sai. Of course, he had his own doubts and tests which Sathya Sai passed in flying colors! Though he never saw Swami in person, he feels it wasn't necessary. This narration contains not just his experiences but also his honest thoughts and deep feelings.
This interview was conducted at Camp Westmont, the site of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Retreat during the Memorial Day weekend in the Pocono Mountains.

Sai Ram, On hearing your story, many things come to mind. On carrying your mothers wisdom to an unsuccessful outcome reflects that God wanted to show you the worst kind of suffering to prepare you by expanding your awareness of the horrific beauty, exploring every tangent and every possible outcome, in a drama of a dream. What happened was a gift, though we often fail to see it at the time. It has elevated your path, and given you understanding of your calling on your path. I feel for you brother, i found comfort in the company of paramedics, and wondered why they got out of bed, to willingly face the drama. Decades pass, and pain becomes wisdom, and a willingness to help others as our path towards joy. 🙏 Aum Sai Ram
