I know YG gets a bad rep for not promoting their artists enough, but SM really messed up with f(x). They were one of the biggest groups of their generation, SM didn’t even care to give them a fandom name even, never mind tours and concerts!! Other groups who have debuted for 1min have fandom names. F(x) was no rookie groups either they won so many no. 1s, they still remain one of my fave groups of all time but they really deserved much better.

@Lucy there was this one interview (i think? i don’t really remember), where basically people were reacting to a video of a black man being arrested over just peacefully eating a sandwich. there were literally no signs or warnings that prohibited eating in public. basically the man was arrested for literally NO reason, and amber said something along the lines of “show respect to police officers “ or something, which was insensitive, because people know that amber definitely knows what police brutality against poc is. amber released an apology (which people strongly dislike that amber included the BLM hashtag bc they felt that it was only included to prove the whole “Im NoT rAcIsT” thing.) i personally am not black so i cannot forgive amber. what amber said is just.... wrong.

Dayely Miluska BoA is the queen of Kpop. She debut at the age of 13 and saved SM ent. Without her a lot of kpop idol group would of probably not existed. Sadly new kpop fans hardly know about her. Because she made SM what it is. That's why. You watch her practice, perform, or sit in her board meetings, you know she's the queen. She solidified modern Kpop music. Period.

amber: getting all these no.1s, getting a lot of money f(x): getting all these no.1s, getting a lot of money what i really love about amber is how humble she is despite f(x)'s success. people like to pretend that f(x) is some underground group but most groups these days couldn't achieve what f(x) did in the short span of their career.

it's crazy why a lot of people actually think so. One of the first kpop songs and kpop groups that i knew was f(x) with Hot Summer. A little less popular than some of the other groups of their generation but still very much successful.

Uh, Kpop idols don't really *make* money. The companies literally invest so much money in them before they even debut - dance & vocal training, Korean lessons for those who don't speak Korean, food, room & board, hype promos on TV, etc. - that the idols are drowning in debt. And, when companies actually get their hands on someone with raw talent - Amber, Han Geng, Henry, Tao, Luhan, Kris, Jonghyun, etc., etc., etc. - they try to make that person do what they want, which leads to lawsuits or suicide.

Amber is that role model that was held to high standards and exceeded them while remaining true to herself. She's so unique and so humble that it's a pleasure to listen to her

She said BoA, and I said "Duh", but the fact she acknowledged her here is why I still love this woman.

The fact that this was filmed in February 2020 and its only released now

I love BOA too. She's a Kpop pioneer. But it's Amber and f(x) that got me into Kpop.

When I listen to amber talking, respect comes naturally. Her words are deep. And she's an inspiration. She's the first K-pop female artist I stanned. Even though there are many new artists I love and Stan, amber is a different genre. My forever favourite ❤️

Amber has become so wise even beyond her age. I just wish this aura of darkness didn’t follow her around after all the hard times, but still it brought out the most beautiful facets of her. And I think it inspires others to watch her figure out the rough patches and life challenges as life goes on.

I love Amber because she know what she wants and don't let anything change herself, you know how hard kpop's world is , and Amber is one of the thoughest kpop star since her debut day.

Amber is the reason I really got into kpop. I had seen some groups like TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD... they were good but not really my style... then I saw Amber. Woah. There has been no one like her in kpop before, or since (which is such a shame). She broke the mould of who could be in a kpop girl group. Korean society is quite conservative and judgemental so her inclusion in f(x) could have tanked them, but because she worked so hard and is so talented, it did the opposite. Fans used to SCREAM when Amber sang her lines on stage, she was so popular! Her and f(x) offered something new and something different in kpop and I'm so disappointed that the kpop industry hasn't bothered going out on a limb to produce something as unique and inventive since. It's not all about elite performance and visuals, some of us want more...

I totally get your feeling. I felt the same way abt FX. They were the first group I properly stanned. I feel the same way abt NUEST's ren & SVT's jeonghan (when they both had long hair). They push the boundaries of gender roles in k-pop. And with k-pops popularity, that also affects the rest of esst and southeast asia

Amber is seriously one of the nicest sweetest people I’ve ever met. When I went to one of her concerts on her tour she was so humble to the crowd we all had such a blast and the vibes were just so fun. Seriously if you ever think about going to an Amber Liu concert this is a sign I’m telling you to frickin go (once pandemic is gone of course).

I love how real and raw she is instead of hiding behind this IDEAL/ PERFECT KPOP IDOL image. She is so successful yet humble and I guess we all can relate with her on some level

It makes me a bit sad that she's not allowed to say anything about F(x) and SM, and you can tell she has a lot of pain inside her when remembering the many things that happened while part of it all... I'm so proud of her for getting out, surviving and thriving after it, even if she had no better choice than to sign some nondisclosure agreement (those are the worst), I'm just glad she has her fighting spirit, her winning personality and the best supporters a performer could ever ask for.

That’s the problem with KPop. Too many groups saturating the industry. They have begun to look alike and sound alike. My biggest beef is that too many girl groups feel that by sexualizing their dance routines it will get them noticed. As music is universal, talent is first and paramount! I guess the Korean music industry hasn’t realized that concept yet.
