Disgusting but true. Its like a game to some of them. Win at all cost even at the cost of willfully condemning the innocent and damaging their families. Evil ,they are the true criminal. Justice is not served.

He clearly committed this crime and the way the family and the Korean community has been attacked for years is truly disgusting

I've followed this case for years and FINALLY someone with the state did their due diligence and actually read over the case and saw all of the holes. Just out of embarrassment the state should drop the charges and also give Adnan financial relief. It won't give him back the time lost nor the label of murderer in the eyes of some but it will be a start for him to possibly get the heck out of there!

@Umar Johnson I should have asked for clarification. Thanks for your understanding. This whole thing annoys me. I would support releasing the guy, even without an admission of guilt. But I understand the activists attempting to free him don't care about the truth. Nor do the people who believe whatever they are told or the Woke DA who likes the optics of freeing a "innocent Muslim" victim of the "system".

I've followed his story for years, 100% convinced of his innocence. It actually made me so sick to my stomach whenever I thought of all he has lost in life. His mother also didn't want him to "plead guilty and serve 4 years" even though it would have saved him years more in prison. I can't imagine ever wanting my son to stay in prison for my own reputation. Adnan put his mothers' feelings above his own freedom. When I found out he was finally being released, my soul felt lighter and I was just amazed by his lack of anger toward the system that failed him.

Hope he sues and get the case looked at

I hope the charges are dropped and he sues the state of Maryland, all the Prosecutors and all the Detectives; who did NO detecting at all. As my Grandma would say, “ what we do in the dark, always comes to light.”. Shame on all of them. As for the car. That is a major bombshell about the car being located behind the relatives house. “WHAT THE HELL?”

What?! The scumbag drug dealer Syed enlisted to help him dispose of the corpse is sketchy? What a shocker!

An awesome, thorough recap! I think the State is going to drop the charges altogether. Their evidence was shaky at best in 2000, and it’s only gotten worse. I think they will focus on these two new suspects and get that evidence tested that they failed to analyze two decades ago.

Even if Syed's lawyer was incompetent, it does not exonerate him. FFS, he wrote "I'M GOING TO KILL" on Lee's breakup letter.

@@Chemist_mama That the State has chosen not to retry Syed does not mean there is not enough evidence. He has served 23 years for the crime; astounding considering he was offered a four year sentence for an admission of guilt. There is also an army of fools who think he is innocent, thanks to some activist podcasters and bias documentarians who only presented only one side, so the optics of pursuing an "innocent Muslim man" isn't good for the woke DA. I think he should be released, but let's not kid ourselves: he very obviously committed this murder.

I'd really like to hear what the community/school/friends/Adnan was doing while she was missing. I haven't heard anything about that.

till this day, the one thing that makes me think that adnan is guilty is the fact that jay, the friend adnan was with the day of hae's murder, knew the location of hae's missing car.

how do you not find it suspicious that jay has changed his story many times, even in recent years, last saying he watched adan kill her at his grandmas house???? nothing jay says makes any sense and i hope you don’t ever have someone frame you too

The car was in Jay’s neighborhood, and he could have come across it. But, there were two documented reports of officers outside the city running the plates at another location before Jay directed the police to the car at its final location in the grassy area. Also, the grass was still green under the car, unlike other cars parked there, and there was even green grass in the wheel well - all of which point to the car being relocated recently at that time. There is also evidence that the car had been hot-wired.

@@liltarzan5062. It wasn't a random day. His ex-girlfriend was reported missing; the police called him about it. So many other people in the podcast Serial could tell you what happened that day. He was the only one in the podcast who had no recollection.

Ultimately, prosecutors focused on the man who wrote "I'M GOING TO KILL" on Lee's breakup letter.

Adnan's friend Jay is a totally sketch individual; I wouldn't believe him if he told me water was wet .

And what find out that Adnan was with them all day the day Hae got killed?! Think about it, why haven’t they mentioned Jay as a suspect? Because it will incriminate Adnan just as much.

If Adnan had been convicted of a crime of passion, it's very likely that he would have been released at least on parole a long time ago. Imo the premidated part of his murder conviction could very well have been avoided under different circumstances. So I dont consider him getting out now to be as much of a blow to the family as others do...besides the fact that he might be innocent, at the end of the day this man served 23 years for something he potentially did when he was 17, a juvenile. He has spent more time behind bars than he did out. I dont neccessarily see his release as a loss of justice because the sentence he received (life in prison) was likely unjust to begin with even if he was guilty.

I haven't followed this case or know all the details beside this video, but I think either a new trial to prove his innocence, or a conviction of the actual murderer would be better for him and her family. I don't think getting off on a technicality, or a juvenile law will truly bring him or her family peace.

Ive followed this story im from uk its just so sad god bless him usa need to fix up in there justice system yes we in uk have these kinda cases but thank god not as many as they us and they supposed to lead the world

I hope they dropped charges. They obviously dropped the ball in original case.

Yeah, the ball was dropped as far as the legal system is concerned. But he is guilty. I spent years reading about this case and sadly, It's probable Adnan took her life.

You forgot to mention that Adnan’s DNA was not found any where . They have DNA but doesn’t match any one else

Adnan will have to face allah and this time a podcast won’t be able to save him.

Adnan clearly did it.

Except she just explained the full details of why he didn't. If you just bluntly say you will believ he's guilty no matter what evidence, then that means youre judging his guilt based on his skin color and religion.
