Long ago, I had a friend from Lemkovyna. She told me that, as a child, she was terrified that the Nazis were going to kidnap her and take her to Germany because she had blonde hair and blue eyes. When her parents found out, they explained that the Nazis had been defeated decades earlier and that she didn’t need to worry about this anymore. I used to think that this story was funny but now I’m amazed and horrified that the muscovites make sure that such concerns are still valid for the children of Ukraine.

Omg! How can you compare Russia and Germany? Germans and Italians killed locals in my region in the East Ukraine. Now my region is under Russia's control. They don't kill locals. They repair broken houses, roads, build new homes, parks, shops. They pay pensions to old people, pay maternal money to families with kids, etc. I sometimes watch western media. They distort the truth for their propaganda. And this boy must be paid by journalist for making up the story. People in my region are afraid that Ukraine might return, because the new government that got the power after the coup is crazy and pro-nаzies.

Taking Ukrainian children out of Ukrainian territory by Russia and to Russia or territories under its occupation, who is at war with Ukraine, is not an evacuation. This could be done to a different part of Ukraine or to a third country and with permission of the person who has the custody. The above described events are child abdution and acording to international laws constitute a form of genocide.

It is perfectly logical since they want more russians and less Ukrainians. There is a reason why stealing children is in an article of the genocide convention, it has been so frighteningly common throughout history as a way of erasing the identity of the group you want to destroy, while adding numbers to your own group. The nazis did this too. They stole 20.000 polish children and gave them to germans. As to how the can sleep at night, beats me too.

Its probably more about owning the future and specific to Russia bolstering a population which I think is declining. You can also indoctrinate them with your culture, ideas, and politics. Jewish children were kidnapped a lot throughout history. The Ottomans were also known to take 20% of the kids of conquered regions at times, unless you were an only child.

I am overjoyed for this human being's freedom. I am heartbroken and angry at the lack of international urgent action to stop it. The deportations are recognized by international law as an act of genocide. The allies could have stopped the first Holocaust to systematically use modern weapons and industrial efficiency. My grandparents were not saved by intervention. They died in camps because the final solution to the nazi Final Solution was left to winning the war at some point. How many people understand that the infamous Dachau Concentration Camp opened up in 1933. It wasnt shutdown until the Allies approached it in 1945. 12 years it operated. TWELVE explitive YEARS!!! Back then, my father helped intervene by "violating" Germany's" sovereignty. In the case of Ukraine, we're required by international law (The "Genocide Convention") to intervene without violating sovereignty.

This greatest crime of Russia gets the least attention.
