This is not her hobby/adventure. She owns an airport/fueling facility. She lives there full time in the harshest of conditions. She’s an amazing example to us all. I wish I was her equal.

Shes been there for over 15 years and she rocks it, but why the hell did it take her so long to think of AND build a greenhouse? If u r thinking survival, food would be top of my list, so after my "kills" I'd be thinking ways to preserve fresh foods, so umm..freeze then grow..so um greenhouse..just very surprised it took her so long cuz sue usually got it going on!!

Are you really a survivalist if you have a tracked vehicle and a greehouse or are you just someone with too much freetime and money on your hands ?

Sedan Wheel - living in isolation in one of the most remote places in below 0 temps.. seems like a survival situation to me.

I'm so glad that the TV licence fee that i pay goes into this immaculately compelling series, where a film crew follows a 54-year-old woman doing survival things and stuff. I am sooooo glad that I am forced to pay £154.40 (if i want to watch TV, access the internet or use a mobile device ) to watch a 54 year old woman in some camp somewhere doing absolutely nothing. Is she there for research? no, is she there to discover something? no, is she in a third world country where she has no place to go and is forced live there? no, what is she therefore? surviving and doing stuff. Yet some bright spark at the BBC thought 'hey you know what's good way to blow millions of the fee paying public's money - lets book a flight to god knows where and follow around god knows who doing god knows what - hopefully that will be enough crap to earn us a couple of million pound bonuses'.

How does this apply to the BBC? They are wholly funded by those paying TV licence, so whether or not they gets attention doesn't matter to them. And stop with the whole 'nobody's forcing you to watch'. That statement would've made sense had I not been a stakeholder. If I'm paying £150 pounds of my money, which is enforced by law, to the BBC then I have every right to complain about every garbage they put out; let alone how every penny that I put into the BBC is spent.

She has a BUSINESS. She lives full time in an inhospitable place running a crucial airport/fueling station. It’s not for fun. She’s not a “survivalist” in the hobby sense.
