Rocket jumping is an oversight in this video. The main reason a spy can't stab good soldiers is they will be in the air or on high ground most of the time, and that aerial view makes them more likely to spot spies compared to others.

Darth Paladin was a Spy Lord of the Spy Mains, so powerful and so sneaky he could use his skills to influence the enemy team to turn around and get backstabbed… He had such a knowledge of the Spy, he could even keep the ones he cared about from being backstabbed. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from being backstabbed, but not himself.

8:00 "If you play Pyro right, the Spy's will accuse you of wallhacks." This statement cannot be more true. There have been so many time where I was accused of using scripts whenever I happen to catch a Spy.

As a sniper main this has happened to me multiple times. I learned to hunt spies and track cloaked spies, which then lead to me tearing up people who ran in predictable patterns.

4:05 I had to watch that about 30 times to figure out how you knew there was a spy there. That was the shortest cloak blink I've ever seen and you picked up on it. Kudos to you, Mr.P

Great stuff as always. The one topic you didn't bring up when talking about Soldier that I thought you would, was identifying spies when you use your banner and you see they don't glow with the banner effect the other teammates do.

Watching your vids, i got a whole lot better to dealing with not only spies but also with many other classes. Reading the enemy is always a plus in combat.

This is a good reminder for me to actually use my brain when playing. I’ve played so many hours of tf2 that often I fall into the trap of only playing instinctively, but when one thinks a step or two ahead as in the vid, that’s when consistently positive results can happen.

I've found that Heavy and Medic can be very effective against spies. Heavy is slow and his minigun takes time to spin up, but if you're not actively engaging the enemy, the minigun is a surprisingly good spychecking tool. Like the flamethrower, if you have a source of ammo you can spam it with no real penalty, and at close or medium range its huge damage output can absolutely melt a spy who isn't using the Dead Ringer. It might also help that a heavy is both a priority target for spies and plays near other high-priority targets like the medic and engineer, so spies tend to be around. As a Medic, you have the luxury of not having to look directly at the enemy team to shoot them - and if you can get out of their sightline you might not have to look at them at all - which lets you watch your teammate's backs. Even in pubs without much use of voice comms to alert teammates, and me not being good at using the Crossbow, I get a surprising number of spy kills as medic. The class I *hate* playing against spies as, even more than the Engineer, is the Demoman. Being unable to quickly splash someone with a pipe often leaves me in a "did that shot pass through because he's a teammate, or did I just miss?" situation, and spies can react to stickies.

I recently joined a UGC (I think that's the name) Highlander league, and I'm going to be their Soldier, this is just the video I needed. Thanks :)

As a scout on defense, you can absolutely succeed by focusing a spy. The spy doesn't exactly "win" if he can't do his own job because a scout is constantly harassing him. And your team isn't giving up much because scout isn't as effective at defense as some other classes. Red scout's job is to deal with things that are causing your team problems. Most of those tasks involve killing Blu sniper or spy, and being an annoying distraction to everyone else.
