How do you hook this reciprocating shaft to an output shaft that moves always the same way?

You can't. Driven shaft should be free to rotate in both direction.

mekanizmalar ima sure there is some sort of swiss linkage that would make for a constant ouput direction from a recriprocating shaft. But in a hydraulic-system you dont want a rotational output from this i guess? I guess the point is Not to make a mechanical output?

Hi John, You can use rack and pinon type rotary actuators. Please look at following link. blog.parker.com/know-your-pneumatics-rotary-actuator-basics

Very poor diagram. No colour legend and no indication of where the pressure is coming from. It just looks like a tank is magically creating pressure then returning to itself. Not very helpful for someone learning. Reservoir, PUMP, pressure toggle, return value, then actuator.
