Man City’s midfield is so intelligent and was so today. Rodri and Stones have a brilliant understanding of space and are so good at receiving and turning with the ball. The main reason Uniteds first phase was bypassed so easily leaving so much space in midfield.

Madrid were really good during the 3peat, but they were never head and shoulders above some of their competition in the CL in all 3 cl runs. You could make a case and say that they were the best team in 2017, but they didn't simply dominate in 2016 or 2018. City dominated 2022/2023, Barca dominated in 09/11, Bayern in 2013. We can talk for ages about tactics, but it all depends on the threat that players can implement on the pitch, which is again a direct result of their quality. Chasing a game for 90mins would make any team tired. Some of the players looked leggy after 30mins. You could be onto something for the fitness, but having to "break" 80 yards every time surely takes its toll on any player. United need to get further up the pitch but against city this was inpossible. Other lapses in concentration cost us silly goals as throughout the season, hence our goal difference being shocking. The result wasnt a shock as a united fan, but i found myself being totally annoyed with the scoreline and the manner that the laat 2 goals were scored.

This is a wild take (from a City fan) but I think we are starting to see a potential end to Peps reign at City. No matter how we play, teams are going to line up the same way, at least 10 men behind the ball and hoping that one of their 4 counter attacks in the game turns into a goal and then just hope for a draw. This is the pattern that I've see from watching every game week in and week out and unless you are Arsenal, Madrid or Liverpool we know what we are going to come up against. Still I think you’re being harsh by pinning this on the players, players like Bruno Fernandes and Rashford have proven they are elite, but for them to perform to their highest level everything around them needs to be in order. There needs to be a synergy between the coach, players, staff and the board which is lacking massively. @@edenholt4394 You do know that being good for about 12-18 months doesn't make you elite and even so when was the last time either of them were even good for that period of time and don't say last season for Rashford because he scored 20 of his 30 goals in a 3 month period of a 10 month season which means across the other 7 months excluding Dec 2022-Mar 2023 he scored 10 goals in 7 months, and as for bruno who I don't think has been elite since at least 2021, if he ever even has been elite because he seems to lack intelligence compared to other players in his position. But you are right this isn’t just on the players and I mostly blame eth because I wouldn’t take players of most of the teams who have outplayed us this season which is pretty much every team

Man u have a director of football problem. I think Fergie did the role when he was manager and the board have not found an adequate replacement. Lots of terrible signings, terrible contracts, and players that don't fit the values and behaviours of the club.

Prediction for Manchester United rest of the season, scraping an uncomfortable 1-0 against winless in 2024 Everton to then lose convincingly (with zero shots on target) 2-0 to Liverpool in the FA Cup. And that's the season done for Manchester United, won't even get close to Top 4 or Europa League spots for that matter.

I can’t be the only one who is worried about Haaland? Sure he scored at the end but this season his finishing overall has been poor. Most big chances missed in the league, something like 2.0 underperformance of xG this season, and he keeps getting his goals when it matters the least, games are basically dead or much weaker opposition. I’m a City fan btw before anyone whines about me just not liking the lad. He’s absolutely elite at hunting out chances, hence why he ends up with so many goals but he has to be finishing many more of these chances

Ppl seems to forget haaland is 23 still young. The amount of goals he is getting at his age is very rare . City fans are entitled to say he scores against weaker opposition he scored against liverpool, united, chelsea
