    Those peeps have some serious talent! I wish I had some of their tooling. I spend a ton of time with making templates, cutting everything out by hand and just keeping my machine behaving properly, let alone the sewing time. These people are so fast I feel like I'm going backwards lol.

    My first job in the 80's was working for The North Face inspecting tents. I had to put up the tent with poles and inspect the inside and outside and cut loose threads. That was workout. Whenever I buy any clothing I know how to inspect the inside and out.

    Since I started getting back into sewing I do the same. Everything gets turned inside out and checked out. I like checking out bags and packs, just to see their construction, helps me figure out how to make a panel or how something goes together maybe better then how I do it. Tent construction is also on my list. What's your favorite design with a tent and why?

  • @BagMe.

    @BagMe.

    @@elconquistador932 my favourite tent designs are external pole sleeves, multi-pitch. I don't like modern tents where you put up the inner first and then throw the fly over. Because they suck when it's raining as your inner is wet before the fly goes on. You can see an example of what I am talking about on my website at www.bagme.com.au/projects

    Edouard, this material is a "non-woven" fabric. You can search this on duckduckgo to find out more. It is similar fabric to a low-cost shopping bag but a little thicker and we use it for stiffening part of a bag. We also use it for low-cost stitching reinforcement behind foam, or we can use it like you saw in the video to create a frame and give us an edge to fold fabric over and glue when we need a neat and stable fold...

    Hi Hannes, the foam used in the bags in this video is an EVA made with Algae. Bloom Foam... But currently we are using a Foam with a base derived from Sugar Cane bio mass...

    @@hannesmue5054 where are you based? Are you a manufacturer? The issue we have with the Sugar Cane Foam is the high Minimum Order Quantities and this foam gets made in Vietnam from raw material mostly imported from abroad.

    What is the average time it takes to make one bag?

  • @BagMe.

    @BagMe.

    Жыл бұрын

    That's a bit of a trick question and depends on how you calculate it. 1 hour would be an average if you try to time every step, but in reality, no single bag is finished in an hour. A line of 26 workers can finish 200 bags a day once everything is ramped up and working efficiently...
