I am so hype for this update. As an alt-aholic, I love the whole idea of having the alts parked in the home instance. I hope one day they take a look at the login screen and give some love to the alt-aholics and give an option to have like a 'class picture' instead of the individual character selection we have now.

True but as long as home instances don't have banks and trading posts and all the crafting stations and a mystic forge I think cities will still be populated enough. Plus sometimes people just want to be out in public for an audience, like to play musical instruments or show off their chairs etc. I think it'll be fine and at the very least a worthwhile trade-off for all the fun this will bring.

it would probably work as the home instance or the guild hall but you will join as a squad. We shall see when it releases.

Amazing! Anet actually listened to what the players wanted and put in the effort to make it great, they didn't half-arse this. They have finally added an exciting new feature in an expansion. Since gliding in HoT and mounts in PoF I have never been excited by a new expansion feature until now. EoD and SotO were so lackluster to me, it's nice to feel hyped about GW2 again.

They need to figure out how to bring people together in the instance. Sharing the mining nodes was one such reason - if they automate that, it might be a missed opportunity. They should look at Asian games for some ideas - they tend to have systems designed for whales to share some reward with the regular players. Those systems can usually be converted to acceptable versions that are not relying on the existance of whales.

This could in the future be expanded into a form of Roblox/Minecraft gamemode. Who knows, but making tools for player made content is a smart move.
