I love her style. I really like the daughters room. My only complaint is I wish it was longer. I can’t get enough of Homeworthy.

Yea, because I love Homegoods, TJ Maxx, and Marshall's. You can find some really good stuff at all 3. Amazon is cool, too, but those 3 are my favs.

Exactly! Honestly, I find even more amazing, items at thrift stores. Modern stores upscale and lower ones don't even make things as well as designers and furniture makers from the past. That gooood stuff is at estate sales and thrift stores.

It's a beautiful expression of the values of motherhood that I think she put a little bit more into her daughter's room than she did to her own.

I love her style and design credo giving access to great design at any budget. You can tell she is a great mom!

It takes a lot of courage to showcase your home to complete strangers. Not my style at all but I commend her in decorating in the way that makes her happy and that’s all that matters. I enjoy every single Homeworthy tour❤️

I love how she mentioned her momma making their home feel nice and remembers that. I try and do the same for my son and even tho he doesn’t appreciate it now I hope it gives him an overall sense of love and peace when he thinks about the space he grew up. Xoxox love this tour!!

My favorite homes on here are the ones that have family photos displayed. Love her style! That dining table 😍

Very pretty! I do agree with another comment that a console under the TV would be a good idea. I think it would feel more finished. I love the little dining area and the bar shelf area was genius!

Really liked her bedroom. The airy sanctuary vibe, seating, storage, hats as decor and the mature all purpose desk. Desks don’t always flow in a bedroom but she did it well in both bedrooms. Great inspo for a single/coparenting/village raising mom 💗

Beautiful well curated home. Comfy but sophisticated. Especially loved the master bedroom and the softness created.

Love the daughter's room. Love how she displayed her hats. I would suggest clear boxes for the shoes, so those can be on display too. The home expresses her style greatly.

I find in a small space function wins over decor. For instance, that is a fabulous looking chess set, but if you don''t play the set would be in the way of anything you wanted to place on the coffee table while seated there. Ditto for randomly placed books which (for me) would end up just in the way. I did love the large headboard in mom's bedroom. Was it a king that you used to enhance the bed? If so, it really worked. Displaying the hats was a great idea! Especially liked the black fans over the dining table. Source??

This designer has an impeccable eye for prints - especially evident in her selection of wallpaper. I especially loved her clever creation of a mini bar area with small railed shelves on that strip of wall! The storage around her daughter’s bed is positively genius. I did note that I was craving drapes in the main living space - which I’d have hung at ceiling height from 2 to 3 foot rods on either side of the window. Even simple straight sheers - maybe in white or even a cocoa shade - would have softened the window view and made the decor feel truly complete. Alternatively, the space above the windows could be utilized for Roman blinds - say in a pale taupe. As they wouldn’t be functional, they could be assembled quite inexpensively as a DIY.

OMG!!! I hardly watch tv; but sometimes it's just on. I happened to walk by and noticed your program Design Remix and YOUR AMAZING STYLE STOOOOOD OUT!! I'm from Maryland which is not far from Philly; but seeing the background and hearing your accent, I thought you were in Balitmore. Anyway, I looked you up and continued watching the program. You are just the dream and answered prayers of sooo many little black girls who grew up learning from our mothers!! My mother wasn't single. My wonderful father was in the house, too. BUT my mother remixed, redesigned, removed, added all the time and my sister and I had to help! We loved it, too! You are so awesome for sharing your inspiration and acknowledging your mother; but what made me cry was the space you provided your daughter to continue your legacy of excellence and her beautiful, grateful response. I would suggest shopping second hand (thrift, Facebook marketplace, vintage) if you're on a budget and like unique items instead of Amazon or Homesense. So much cooler and better for the world.

I love the sofa and pillows. I get a chic New York or big city vibe. Love it.

She did a great job, and she makes good points, illustrating that you don’t need a big budget to have big style! I would make a few adjustments, I would lower the tv and I would bring in a console or some sort of surround for the TV so you don’t have to see how it’s hung on the sides. She could wrap the console or surround with the same wall paper to achieve the same look, but it will just look more balanced in my point of view. I would switch out pillows on sofa with graphics ones, so it looks more expensive. But the way she did her shelves and bar was very clever! 😊
