First of all, you are so down to earth and unassuming that you made me feel welcome to your tour from the minute you started. Second, I love your style and use of color. A very welcoming and bright grandmillenial feel to this apartment, makes you feel like your minimalist-for-her-time grandma used to own that home and tge stuff in it. The young host is indeed very welcoming to the extent of having mini cakes customized for her visitors for the day🏡! Such a rare, thoughful & warm hospitality.

That Odyssey reference cracked me up... perfect analogy. Loved her method of explaining design rules and her style and finds...informative but fun, clear, and straight to the point.

Love! only one thing I’d change…. The patterned tablecloth that’s against the wall competes with the round table. I would change it to a solid color.

Lovely- I love her use of print, texture and pattern to infuse energy and ambiance into the home.

I kind of like the lines of window glass between the shades. I imagine it offers a glimpse of city lights when pulled down at night …the best of both worlds compared to a totally closed wall. Especially since the windows drew you in to your home. 😊

Lovely design and style! I just wanted to note- She mentions that the old bathroom had a weird built in trash can in the wall- That was actually a laundry hamper! Lol! Those 50s/60s apartments always had a built in hamper on the wall.. Saves you space!

Me too...I'm from Mass, but moved to NYC after earning my degrees. I love how New Englanders will buy a lot of high & low, in addition to scoring well-made items at flea markets and estate sales. I view her decor style a wonderful eclectic mix of preppy, cottage, coastal, even chinoiserie...all while appearing fresh and youthful. My sister and her husband scored a ton of things at 2nd hand shops and estate sales throughout New England at a fraction of the cost. When you walk in their home, it has a welcoming appeal, yet many people think they spent much more than they did decorating.

She is a very joyful pretty lady, and her apartment is gorgeous.

Really fun apartment with happy colors! To her remark that you can't find similar sofa's as the pink one with the bench seat. Well, you can if you don't shop at mass market big box stores. C. R. Laine and Lee Industries make pieces like that and you can get spring down cushions. They are an investment and you have to go to a regular furniture store that sells the brand.

I love this home tour. It’s about design more than things. Surprised to find a second living room space instead of a dining area. I might steal the front door stripe idea. I’ve been trying to come up with an interesting solution to my own very similar entry space for five years!

As glamorous as some other Home Worthy properties are, I like this kind of tour most because I can relate to it. I started redecorating my rented house on a budget this year, after realizing the prairie-meets-mid-century style wasn't really me and was too monotone as climate change turns things more brown and grey every year. I call my personal decor style "Poor Man's Penny Morrison" - a bit of English country mixed with boho stuff from my travels and thrifting, plus lots of artwork, done on a dime. Great tips here, thanks! More of this, please!

A person can get a bad crook in the neck by looking too far upward at the TV. I nearly made that error, and someone stopped me, explaining why.

It only makes sense to have a tv that high if it's in a large living room far away from the sofa. As a general rule in a small room, I don't think a t.v. should be any higher than 5 ft 7 off the grround
