Those house beats always had something special. In that first pattern, with the typical bass and hi-hat in such an ultra-straight pattern, I knew something up up with the congos & shakers but never could put my finger on the trick. Thanks for showing us the power of selected precussion swinging outside the main drum patterns. Is that swinging the reason to use the 2 drum machines?
@kristofersknesis
6 жыл бұрын
hmmmm that is a great point. you couldn't do this on a single drum machine, like tr-8, but if its straight beat is combined with a shuffled beat of another machine... magic happens. gotta try it out later tonight.
@Niersteentje
6 жыл бұрын
I think you could, provided one machines can generate all of the sounds. Shuffle is not applied to 1/8 notes, only to the 1/16 notes in between, hence the kick nor the open hihat would be affected in this particular beat.

I agree sir
Wow !!! I love this sound 😍 maybe one day I can play like you )
All you need is to break out that W30 and the early 90's flavor will be complete! Massive respect!
I love the sound of the 909 key caps:)
Those house beats always had something special. In that first pattern, with the typical bass and hi-hat in such an ultra-straight pattern, I knew something up up with the congos & shakers but never could put my finger on the trick. Thanks for showing us the power of selected precussion swinging outside the main drum patterns. Is that swinging the reason to use the 2 drum machines?

hmmmm that is a great point. you couldn't do this on a single drum machine, like tr-8, but if its straight beat is combined with a shuffled beat of another machine... magic happens. gotta try it out later tonight.

I think you could, provided one machines can generate all of the sounds. Shuffle is not applied to 1/8 notes, only to the 1/16 notes in between, hence the kick nor the open hihat would be affected in this particular beat.
Thnx for the great videos!!! I learn a lot of you!
This is actually a great explanation dude thanks!!!!!

The rhythm and beat track sounds like "Groovejet" - Spiller. Very clever stuff!
Wow!!! Those House and Techno patterns sounded exactly like the music I loved back in the day! Love the 909/727 combo! Thank you, I learned a lot from this video. BTW, I love that you're using the M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 (which I also use for my DAW)! What cord are you using for it? The one that it comes with is rather short. Thanks again and have a nice day!!!
Just found your channel very good information! And awesome instruments!
