The key to getting conservatives to give up their free speech rights, is just to find something that they hate more than government overreach. Who would have thought it would be anti-war protesters.

There's a statistical correction that needs to be made; 70 Democrats voted against this bill, whereas, 21 Republicans voted against the bill as well. (The exact reverse of what the reporter stated).

The fact that the bill leaves the definition to the one defined by an outside organization means that organization can change the definition anytime and any way they want to without needing Congress to pass a new bill, effectively taking it out of the control of the American people. Furthermore, it declares that identifying those responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus is a crime, thereby outlawing the New Testament.

Imagine a bill passed for Catholics so you cannot say anything negative about what certain people in that group did in the past or future. That would be less than 0.4% of the current black population is descended from slaves. The greatest majority of blacks; 90+% of them moved to US, to places like Texas etc, in the 1880's - its historical fact, and only 1.4% of whites were wealthy enough to own slaves. 1.4% of the total pre-Civil War white population owned slaves, let that sink it...

It goes much farther. If you are against giving aid to Israel you can be arrested. If you boycot Amazon or Google you can be arrested. Combined this with the Patriot act, you can be jailed indefinitely without a trial like Israel.

The so-called definition of antisemitism under debate was not meant to be used as a definition as such. It was merely a guideline for data collectors in a particular [obviously biased and unethical] social research project. The researcher who authored the guideline is appalled at how it has been taken out of context and used in global debate and in national parliaments. He has publicly stated that if he were a Palestinian his actions would qualify as falling within the guideline!
