I hope it shows the looks on the faces of all the small folk as the head passes by. In the book, it's meant to be a Triumph of sorts - like Caesar parading Vercingetorix through Rome. Instead of throwing up applause however, the citizens of King's Landing are disquieted. To us, seeing such a sight would be like watching the first nuke go off on the news in some foreign country. Alicent eventually has to bar the exits to the city on account of so many people trying to leave in the days after.

Also that scene of aegon and rhaenys bonding with there dragons was so cute but so heart breaking fiven what was about to happen. Aegons face lit up when sunfrye came over and pushed him with his nose and seeing rhaenys tell meleys there of to battle again, just amazing.

Parading around a dead dragons head is probably the dumbest thing they could’ve done. Dragons are the symbol of their house and power and now everyone will see that they aren’t invincible.

You are right, the storming of the Dragon Pit is coming: In George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood, the storming of the Dragonpit happens while Rhaenyra is reigning in King's Landing. The common people rise up in a deadly riot, which a religious prophet known as the Shepherd spurs on, telling the fearful public that the only way to be saved from a fiery death when Aegon's army arrives at the city is to kill the dragons kept in the Dragonpit. The four dragons kept chained inside - Shrykos, Morghul, Tyraxes, and Dreamfyre - are all attacked and butchered by the rioters. Dreamfyre flies into the ceiling of the Dragonpit during the chaos, which brings half of it down and kills everyone inside, including Dreamfyre herself. As the carnage is unfolding, Rhaenyra's son Joffrey Velaryon, whose dragon is Tyraxes, secretly takes his mother's dragon Syrax and rides the creature over the city, heading for the Dragonpit. Sadly, though, Syrax doesn't want to accept a different rider and shakes Joffrey off. He falls to his death from Syrax's back.

Meylys and Rhaenys's soul connection was demonstrated in the closing fighting scenes when they repeatedly looked at each other silently. Observing their emotional communication was just delightful.

Watching this preview, seeing the Greens drag Meleys’s severed head into the Red Keep as a war trophy, along with bringing Aegon back, is pulled *EXACTLY* like the pages in Fire&Blood!

Notice how Rhaenys tied herself to her Dragon before the fight with leather belt. She new that if her Dragon dies, she will die with her. It was symbolic, but when she orders her Dragon to attack (even though she saw Vhagar and should have flee), she literally wanted to die that very day, in combat and with her dragon. There will be more deaths like this, as this time Martin's books are already written. It is gonna be GoT's Red Wedding almost every episode now, but worse as they will keep killing Dragons... 😥

Her union with Lord Corlys and her savvy political instincts would have allowed her to continue the peace and prosperity enjoyed under Jaehaerys and Viserys. Her commitment to duty and ultimately sacrifice demonstrate her calibre. She would have been an amazing queen.

Aegon is such a misunderstood character. Misunderstood even by himself. The way he mourned his son, the little nudge/hug sunfyre gave him amongst other scenes show you that deep down he is a gentle soul just looking to please those around him and mark a place for himself

@@Idunno-gl1wz except the show tells you exactly why aegon is a terrible ruler and a horrible person plenty of times. he's not misunderstood, you're empathizing with his character because tom glynn carney didn't want to play joffrey baratheon 2.0 and went for a more subtle portrayal. he's an interesting villain stuck in a cycle of trauma and neglect, but a villain nonetheless (and a rapist btw, which is not very harmless and funny of him!)

I liked this change of detail. If im not mistaken cause i haven't read the books, what happened originally is that they went on a 2 vs 1 battle, not like what happened in the episode where Rhaenys went for Vhagar after she's done with Aegon, and that it was Meleys's fires that burned him, not Vhagar. Although the past episodes did build up to Aemond eventually getting tired of his brother.

This version of the battle sound more like the propaganda of the Greens, where the battle was being lost until the brave hero king changes the tide of battle. Just like in this preview, where they're claiming that Aegon was the one to kill the dragon.

Meylys and Rhaenys were connected to souls proved in final battle scenes when they glanced at one another multiple times w/o saying a word. They were communicating emotionally such a great treat to watch.

the way that sunfyre screamed as he was injured and burned broke my heart. i also felt so sorry for meleys and as she shut her eyes dying while looking at rhaenys 😢

The way Sunfyre looked so happy to see Aegon in the Dragonpit ... boy thought they're just going for a fun little flight, and suddenly he's supposed to ram Meleys who is like three times his size 😥😥😥

People saying how sad this is, haven't seen anything yet. As someone who read the books. I won't spoil it. But this whole war is just sad. Game of thrones had its sad moments. But the sadness won't even compare to the sadness of this war :(

It was a good fight, Meleys. Viserys and Daemon's mother remembered you the last. You would make Alyssa proud.

This episode reminds me of the Red Wedding…. We knew what was coming but it still was disturbing to watch. Meleys looking back at Rhaneys as she died was sad, like she was saying “I tried mom, but I failed”

@@firstofawll Right and her little demeaning speech to him about wanting him to do nothing was what triggered him to go to battle. She doesn't know how to mother. He wants to be involved, to do things, to be a King and not a puppet. So instead of making him feel small and stupid and telling him to do nothing, make him believe that he's being useful. Manipulate him in a tactful way to make him think his ideas are being used and he's the one orchestrating the plans. Larys Strong does exactly that; he knows how to manipulate Aegon.

RIP to the Queen without the crown. She and Meleys fought till the end.

The worst thing about this battle for me was the fact that Aegon just wanted to prove himself to the people who forced him to wear the crown and then treated him like a loser. He was scared and Sunfyre was helpless, he saw Vhagar and you could see how relieved he felt thanking the Gods. And the Aemond burned him alive. That was the saddest part of the whole episode for me. The betrayal.

I'm hyped for Daemon and Ceraxes to fight, Ceraxes has such a unique designl with his wyrm proportions with a hint of scorpian. Him vs Vhagar will be epic.

There was enough complaining on social media about all the episodes with no battles. I, for one, am glad they took their time building up to this moment. It made the Battle of Rook's Nest that much more impactful.

Everyone’s acting so surprised that Aemond tried to kill Aegon when presented with the opportunity, as if the last ep’s brothel scene, not to mention a lifetime of bullying by Aegon, never happened.

Aemond also literally told Vhagar to wait when he saw Sunfyre flew into battle. Aemond waited for his brother to get wounded by Rhaenys first before flying in to fight. Aemond was definitely hoping for his brother to be killed in battle.

They probably flew their dragons around each other when they were younger so vhagar would have def recognized sunfyre. He couldn't have her attack aegon and his dragon alone it would be obvious.

They're also forgetting that as it stands, Aegon has no other heirs other than him. Especially after his son was killed a couple of episodes ago.

Ep 4 is one of the best out of the franchise. Tense and amazing. Dragon fight was spectacular. Great job

Now I realise Viseryes should have made Daemon heir he would have ruled with a iron fist but at least there wouldn't be this much chaos

Loved how they used silence and sounds to make it more impressive :) really well done scenes

this is the episode with the scene of Alicent and Helaena running terryfied in the streets that was initially shown in the trailer, finally!! i was so excited to see what happens

riots in Kings Landing bcuz people saw Meleys' head being shown around and they are scared that the Blacks will attack the city with dragon

Seeing those wings while flying behind the trees was perfect. It gave the impression that the Caraxes vs Vhagar battle would be better.

When Vhgar was slowly coming out of the forest with the chilling music it reminded me of jaws. Incredible episode.

This show just gets better and better. I felt bad for the dragons tho 😔

Meh not really. It was their enemy and also a publicity move. That dragon killed hundreds of smallfolk so then showing the smallfolk that your side is the one that killed it and delivered justice for them could go a long way in getting the people back on your side

Episode 4 truly cemented Aemond as a villain in my eyes. He can pretend what he did to Lucerys was an accident all he wants but this was premeditated. He knew what would happen to his brother yet attacked anyways. I really feel for Aegon getting betrayed by your own brother after being belittled by your mother. I can't imagine. RIP Princess Rhaneys and Meleys died like a true dragonrider. Laena would be proud.

Aegon wasn't supposed to be there. If he had done nothing because he interfered, all their troops would've died. His resentment towards his brother for belittling and mocking him just made that choice easier. There are no villains is this story, or rather all of them are.

The Greens stole the crown from Rhaenrya against Viserys wishes. Had they respected those wishes none of this would've happened.

I can't believe how vhagar's two on screen kills were both stealth kills. For a dragon that size, maybe it has max stealth.

Meleys fought ferociously, despite being one against the 2 large dragons.And if you are on the same page Meleys had the upper hand in dealing with vhagar face to face until she got murdered by vhagar's ambush attack.

Both the shrieks of Sunfyre & Meleys made me much more sad than their riders

The words traitor dragon, Meleys broke my heart🥺

It's nice to have a must watch series again where you look forward to it each week.

I'm reminded of the Red Wedding by this episode. Even though we knew what was about to happen, it was unsettling to witness. Meleys felt dejected as he watched Rhaneys die, as if he were saying, "I tried, mom, but I failed."

Episode 4 is the best episode of the whole series. The scene where Meleys turned to look at Rhaenys one last time before dying made me cry so much. Rest in peace The Red Queen and The Queen Who Never Was.

Aegon and Sunfyre scene was so cute and pure. Aegon truly looked so happy in that scene and Sunfyre adored him. ❤

The latest 4th episode truly reminded me of the gold GOT era.

Heart pounding, ears were heating up, breath was stuck. This was a thriller like no other. But that was probably because of how much I love dear old Rhaenys and Meleys. Died like queens, both of them, fought till the very end even when they could've run away. I guess that just ain't their style.

Daemon knew Vhagar is too big and earlier told Rhaenys that Meleys and Caraxes together would take her out. Wish he was in Dragonstone and not doing sidequests coz Daemon would 100% go with Rhaenys and noodle boy Caraxes would have flipped the battle.
