Episode 4 was an emotional rollercoaster. While I enjoyed the battle scene, I was deeply saddened by the deaths of these two major characters, Rhaenys and Meleys. What a blow for Team Black.

Sunfyre did everything possible to turn over in the air during the fall and land on his wounded stomach to give Aegon the opportunity to survive. The certified good boy, I felt so bad for him, getting beaten nonstop and he was so happy earlier when he met Aegon, literally the only soul in this world that loves Aegon :/

Cole’s post battle PTSD reminds me of Jamie Lannister after the Spoils of War battle. They were shell shocked after seeing what dragons can really do in battle.

The Hightowers actually...

Seeing dragons fight and kill one another was so painful. Hearing Sunfyre's cries was heartbreaking. Seeing Meleys' last moments was so sad.

I like Sunfyre and did feel bad and as well for Meleys. Idk why Aegon though he had any chance as an inexperienced rider against Meleys and Rhaenys. I even think one on one against Vhagar Meleys can win as long as Vhagar doesn't sneak attack her. The dragon deaths will hit me harder than the people dying.

I’m team black and love rheynes & meleys bond & that hit me the most. but seeing how loyal and good sunfyre is was touching, yet hard to see get hurt as well. I know in the main series the dragons and dire wolves dying were the hardest on me 😫😩

Well Aegon and Sunfyre had canonically the strongest bond out of all dragon-dragon rider pairs. So it's obvious that Ryan Condal decided to skip it and show instead many scenes of Rhaenyra and Syrax whose bond wasn't even close... You know just to be sure nobody will start liking the greens. The show is at this point just black propaganda

I work in the film business and I can tell you, the way a story is written in the books doesn’t not necessarily translate to film, and the time it takes for the CGI to create these dragons and then there’s the budget, they have so much to work with, contracts, salary, time schedules these all factor in, so I’m sure they wanted more out of Sunfyre, but they signed on for 4 seasons so there’s not a lot of room to deal with flexibility. There are some things they will just have to scrap to meet that requirement deal, they had to be totally methodical on how they would execute this, that’s just how the business works, if they would fully go in the direction the way the books were written, the show might drag out 6-8 seasons easily with 10 episodes each. Do you know how much money that would cost, so I don’t know if HBO wanted to go that route and take that big of a chance, I know it’s frustrating and infuriating, but that’s just how the business works, I’m glad that we got this series at all, so try not to be too overly sensitive about it

@@stew-03yes but that was before their time and in history barely anyone remembers that and maegor did kill a dragon but he never parade his kill around he was brutal but not stupid and again that was a while and he used balerion to do it not a chance in hell was silverwing winning against that. Maraxes was killed in war by 1in100 shot and only the dorne could do it. The point of the matter is no self respecting Targaryen would ever do what aemond and cole are doing to dragons hence why I don’t even consider them Targaryens they are Hightowers through and through.

In the end, Rhaenyra technically won the war, as her son will ultimately sit on the iron throne, ending the dance. At the same time, the once mighty Targaryen, begins to falter. The dance of dragons is the descent of the Targaryens. No more dragons, no more strength, no more power ~Bran😂

Still can't believe Aemond's betrayal over Aegon actually happened… Aemond literally aimed at Aegon and Aegon was yelling "noo", the only reason he doesn't finish him on the ground was because Aemond thught Aegon was dead or zero chance of surviving more than a day. That fact that in the book Aegon commissioned a huge golden statue of Aemond in King's Landing (he decreed it should be larger than the Titan of Braavos, and covered in gold leaf). IIRC the Titan of Bravos is around 400 feet (or 121 meters) tall. To put it in comparison, the Statue of Liberty is "only" 305 feet (92 meters), and that's including the base. Imagine the amount of love you have to have to commission a golden statue that tall for your brother. The fact that this happened in the book and Aegon loves Aemond this much while now in the show we have Aemond trying to kill Aegon feels like treason from the showrunners.

Well the book is written as a recollection of the events by a measter from the Oldtown and in Tea, green. so the book is written in green vavour from the start. With that said it leaves a lot of the story hanging loose and up for change. Maybe not so much of it is true after all.

One maester was writing while staying in the black dungeons which means he had to placate the blacks if he wanted to survive and of course there is also Mushroom who was just another Condal (rhaenyra stan). It means the books are way more objective than the show that is made only by rhaenyra simps.

I hadn't cried over a dragons death since Rhaegal and Viserion were killed in Game of Thrones. Meleys' death was heartbreaking cause she looked back at Rhaenys as if to say, "We did all we could. This is it Mom.". I also feel really bad for Aegon, he NEVER wanted to be king. He just wanted to be loved and heard. I don't see Aegon as a villain at all, only Alicent, Criston and Otto. They're the reasons that this brutal war started!! Unfortunately, I root for Team Black knowing that they all die..

That whole dragon fight scene, I was hoping Vhagar was gonna recognize Rhaenys and Maleys and start disobeying Aemond, embarrassing him in front of his army. I was terribly, terribly wrong😩😭

Rhaenys and Meleys could have fled at any time after injuring Sunfyre but Rhaenys chose to fight. I hope the Blacks will use this battle as reference. I don't like how the Blacks, apart from Daemon are not ready to be ruthless. They're trying to fight an unjust war with dignity. It's time for ruthlessness. Only Daemon seems to understand this fact. It's sad because they've now lost their biggest dragon. They had the numbers to win the war easily but the numbers are now dwindling quickly. If only team black would just go all out!

Yeah I don't know If I can stick with the show is there's much of the filler/female politicing. I feel like it was 2 full episodes of the woman trying to avoid a war that they started and couldn't avoid lol. Add onto that the fact that we get 10 episodes every 2 years...

*Aegon* *II:* *A* *Tragic* *Figure* Aegon just lost his son. Nobody in his family takes him seriously or seems to love him. And his own brother was out to kill him. Look, I know Aemond has been bullied since he was a kid. How in Ep. 1x6 The Princess and the Queen, we watch Aemond getting pranked by Aegon, Jace, and Luke with the Pink Dread because Aemond didn't have a dragon. Then we watched Aegon embarrass Aemond again in that whorehouse. Aemond probably had several more instances of Aegon trying to shame him that viewers never saw. But Aemond "accidentally" killing Lucerys did lead to Blood and Cheese which led to his nephew's death. Accidental kills is still a kill and Team Black wouldn't know it. Why try to kill your brother when he just lost his son? No matter how much Daemon didn't get along with Viserys, he always loved his older brother. He was always out there to protect him no matter how many times Viserys banished him from King's Landing. While commenters are saying Daemon is too busy playing Luigi's Mansion, I call it Castle of Illusions Starring Mickey Mouse, some say Silent Hill, at least the writers are making Daemon explore the guilt from his violent and rash actions. While Aemond is becoming more unremorseful for his. Maybe that's why we see Matt Daemon seeing Matt Aemond in that scene. Daemon and Aemond are going different directions processing their guilt. Daemon is about 48 while Aemond is still 19. Aemond is starting to become like those Columbine shooters where he ends up hating the world. Perhaps the Matt Aemond scene was to show that Daemon is the original Aemond and the less remorseful he is, the more he will be like current Aemond. Daemon and Aemond are mirror images of each other. It's young Sephiroth vs. old Sephiroth. Aemond is a reflection of what Daemon used to be 29 years prior. They're both excellent swordsmen. Daemon was knighted at 16. Both are educated as Daemon served as Master of Coin and Law. Aemond seems to be more patient. More cool and calculated. While Daemon can be brash and impatient like Anakin and Luke Skywalker. Reacts more on impulse without thinking things through. Aemond thinks more like Vito and Michael Corleone while Daemon is more like Sonny and Vincent and gets hotheaded quicker. As much as viewers are feeling sympathetic towards Rhaenys and Meleys, although they did kill hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent smallfolk in Ep. 9 The Green Council, I think we should sympathize just as much towards Aegon II. He never wanted the throne. TV version turned him into a happy go lucky guy who only wants to get drunk and hang out with his boys. He's basically a frat boy. But nobody seems to love him except Sunfyre. Then his own brother tried to pull a Cain on Abel and Aegon is looking like Anakin after the Battle of Mustafar. This was a drastic change where we see Aemond attack Aegon, because in the book, Aegon was part of the plot to ambush Rhaenys. Would Aegon remember Aemond trying to kill him or not? If he does and he can still speak, wouldn't he try to report him for it? Will he be able to talk? Aegon would need to talk for later seasons. He can't be just be some mute, crippled burnt victim with amnesia after Aemond tried to kill him. And why not Criston report what he saw? His newest war buddy was ready to kill the king. And how do they lie that Aegon killed Meleys? There were tons of eyewitnesses there to know that isn't true. Meleys was clearly beating on Sunfyre. It's actually a bastard move by Aemond. He is fighting for the Greens but tried to kill the guy he raises his banner for. But I guess his strategy will work because he gets to act like a king with Aegon on the sidelines. Still a dick move because Sunfyre got injured from it too and Sunfyre was never battle-tested. Aemond has already killed two of his kins and attempted on another. I personally love that Aemond is becoming the big dickwad in this and he seems to be in cahoots with the biggest dickwad in Criston. We all need a great villain to have compelling drama. FYI: George R.R. Martin HATES the Greens. I believe he would mind if HBO whitewashes the Greens too much. He didn't seem to care how Blood and Cheese went down. Aegon's humiliations - Alicent pushing Aegon to the throne Alicent hitting him in 1x7 Driftmark Viserys screaming at him in 1x7 Driftmark Has a loveless marriage with his sister His son getting beheaded Aemond shames him in front of the council Aemond trying to kill him Perhaps the Daemon visions in Harrenhal does drag the story. But GrayArea (MJ) does have a great theory that Daemon will become a greenseer. And I think Daemon gets better character development from it. He needs to process the guilt from his actions. Matt Smith said the writers don't want to keep doing the same old thing. They want to explore different avenues with him. While you can see Alicent's face when talking to Rhaenyra on how Aemond is becoming a total monster. Most of these major characters are broken people. Character Rankings 1. Daemon 2. Aemond 3. Rhaenys 4. Rhaenyra 5. Aegon II 6. Helaena (only true likable Green) 7. Alicent 8. Otto (this bastard is getting his by 2x8) 9. Jacaerys 10. Baela Alicent had her most Cersei-like moment when talking with Aegon in that table. Getting drunk and telling Aegon to do absolutely nothing. Aegon is a victim from his own family. This is why he still acts like a frat boy. He gets drunk because everyone expects him to do absolutely nothing. He's a puppet king who was never taken seriously by Otto, Alicent, Viserys, Aemond, Criston, the entire council, and the smallfolk. Aemond being a great tactician is NOT true. The Greens have less dragons than the Blacks. You don't try to injure one of your team's dragons with the limited dragons and riders you have because you have an axe to grind with your older brother. Poor Sunfyre. He didn't deserve being collateral damage because Aemond decided to target Aegon. Then add that killing your own kin is greatly looked down upon and that's why Rhaenys didn't when she had a chance. The 1x9 The Green Council, they were not in war yet. Aemond has finally turned to the dark side and he's already reached a point of no return. Had Viserys and Rhaenyra listened to Daemon, none of this would've happened. Otto used his grandson as his puppet king. Need to listen to Daemon. He saw what a c*nt Otto was that Viserys didn't. Daemon might be an unpredictable wildcard, but he was right all along. Remember the Thanos memes saying Thanos was right? That's Daemon. He was right. Rhaenyra argues with him about Blood and Cheese. Daemon gets banished again. Another family member dies while he is away needing to be Bob Vila renovating the largest castle in the realm that happens to be cursed and haunted. I thought the whole point of Rhaenyra marrying Daemon was she wanted his strength? Rhaenyra asked Daemon to marry her. He even had to kill a random guy to fake Laenor's death. Now she can't seem to trust Daemon anymore by saying hurtful things to him like now much her daddy loved her more than he did? Or how her daddy never trusted him? Go back to 1x7 Driftmark episode. Rhaenyra was practically begging Daemon to marry her because she had no allies and needed his strength. Daemon just lost Laena, and Rhaenyra's legs were opening for her uncle only 15 minutes later. Rhaenyra is going to end up making more mistakes especially after Season 2. I thought her dressing up as a septa was very dangerous and pretty pointless. High risk, no reward. Go on a secret mission after an assassination attempt on her life and after her kid died with no explanation or apologies from the Greens? Ep. 3 is the weakest part of S2. If Rhaenyra ends up closer to her book version, more viewers are going to dislike her. Rhaenyra is not who you think she is later on. Pay attention to how the smallfolk reacts. They can dictate behavior the same way public perception and social media dictates how the supes in The Boys behave. Daemon could've killed Viserys if he really wanted that throne but he isn't a monster like Aemond has become. And why does Aemond do this openly? There are thousands of eyewitnesses looking up in the sky. Why not poison Aegon if he really wanted him dead? Sometimes you need a violent and tough nature like Daemon's if you want to fight a war. You can't wimp out like Rhaenyra is doing. This is war. Rhaenyra turned Daemon from Napoleon Bonaparte to Tim "The Toolman" Taylor. A woman really doesn't understand how to engage in war. Did Rhaenyra expect tea time with Alicent? The Hightowers are the root to this war. Otto manipulated Viserys. Alicent screwed up about thinking it's her Aegon who Viserys was referring to. Aemond "accidentally" killing Lucerys and then kills Rhaenys. We got fans online saying they're Team Green 💚. They're trying to defend these morons and team of losers? The author even hates the Greens! Daemon was right all along. He was right about Otto. He saw through the bullshit. But nobody listened or even trusted him and this what happens. Believing that Otto was an honorable man and Daemon was the problem led to this civil war. Now Daemon is at Harrenhal taking his acid trips and processing the mistakes he made. Finding more Dragonseeds and the Battle of Gullet are coming up. Jacaerys takes the spotlight in the latter. 😢 Viewers may not be able to handle what's going to happen next. More tears 😭. This is a sad tale to watch. It wouldn't be if they all listened to Daemon.

Greens lost my little remaining support when they dragged melys's head in public. They are pure evil now.

They conspired against Rhaenyra for decades, usurp her and kill her son and not once did she reciprocate in violence. Up until the last episode she didn't want any more bloodshed, which is why she tried to speak with Alicent's hypocritical and utterly annoying ass. The Green's however speak TWICE about murdering Rhaenyra and her children. Aemond purposely tries to kill his own brother. Both situations are fucked up because they went out of their way to show that Daemon and Rhaenrya MIGHT be capable of the heinous shit they actually do. After episode four no Green fan should say a word. It's embarrassing at this point. You can't excuse the depravity....not anymore.

Funny how the greens changed the narrative. Rhaenys with Meleys was pulverising Aegon/ Sunfyre, then even after Vhagar came, Meleys had the upper hand on Vhagar too for a while, as she was able to slam Vhagar from mid air on to the ground. Eventually Vhagar had to resort to a sneak attack to win. Sadly, failure permits no alibis. Regardless due to the show we know how valiantly Rhaenys/ Meleys went down.

As of now I only have sympathy for those poor Dragons. They are fighting and killing each other because of the greed and cruelty of the humans. Sunfyre was a beautiful beast. everything about this leak was correct except for Corlys meeting Rhaenyra, Otto assembling the hightower army and Addam of Hull meeting rhaenyra.

Rhaenys got emotional and should’ve returned to Dragonstone for military purposes, however heroic, she risked and ultimately wasted valuable resources of herself and Meleys that could’ve helped Rhaenyra with two war dragons to attack Vhagar
