Well, now Alicent knows she messed up big time by not thinking through her late hubby's dying words. Or his steadfast position for as long as she's known him. Up until now, I think she's been second guessing what she thought were his last words from time to time but now? Now she's gotta know that every horror her son's and their toadies carry out is because of her and every horror inflicted on her family is earned. If only Otto wasn't so dang insistent on keeping Rhaenyra off of the throne.

Honestly the burning mill mostly serves to setup a greater conflict in the riverlands, where characters we know actually play a big part. It sucks the cut it down but makes sense if they’re planning on showing what comes

So i disagree with a lot of people. I disagree that the take away from the last scene is that Alicent realizes that she misunderstood Viserys on his deathbed. I mean, yea she did misunderstand him and her telling her father what she thought she heard gave some perceived legitimacy to what Otto and the other high lords at the council (with the exception of Beesbury) had been planning to do for decades anyway. At the end of the day, even Otto didn't believe her. No, the take away from Alicent and Rhaenyra's conversation is that Alicent is seeing first hand that all this time she had it in her mind that Rhaenyra was this depraved, disgusting queen of bastards who was selfish and didnt deserve the crown was her literally begging Alicent to help her to some pathway to peace while her own son Aegon is literally itching to burn everything to the ground and Aemond is uncontrollable with the biggest nuke in the world. She's realizing in real time she's been mad at the wrong person.

There is talk in the fandom that he might be. ... the current GOT NightKing, not the original. . The medallion on the NK looks like Rhaenyras necklace Daemon gave her. If the NK is Daemon it would give him motivation and context for how he behaves during GOT. Avenging his family would make the NK SO tragic.

I mean its pretty obvious Daemon told Blood "A son for a son." Daemon himself uses that phrase at the start of the episode, and Blood tells Cheese "He said a Son for a Son. Does she look like a f'ng son to you?"

I respectfully disagree with your take on Daemon. If you recall Blood recounted to Cheese their instructions from Daemon "a son for a son". In other words, if you can't find Aemond, get me "a son for a son". Also, Daemon does want the throne. If his argument with Rhanerya that his reign would have out shone that of his brother doesn't make the point, then how about in this episode (S2 Ep3) where he insisted he be referred to as your "Grace", a title referencing the one who occupies the throne? Yes Daemon is a thrilling character but let's be honest, there is a reason he is referred to as the "rogue prince". That's just my take. Lol :)

You are making an assumption. When Cheese asked Daemon "what do we do if we can't find him?", What was Daemon's answer? The audience does not know. We were purposefully not told. Now you can believe he did. But saying that is what he said is incorrect. I don't believe Daemon wants the throne. He cares too much about his family to make trouble for them by wanting the throne. He just wants to be acknowledged. And Your Grace is also how you address King AND Queen.

My god I HATE Alicent!

Not even just soldiers, the smallfolk are always caught in the crossfire and they didn't ask for this. All avenues should be explored before you go all in. Ned Stark himself says "Before you take a man's life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words. If you cannot bear to do that, perhaps he did not deserve to die. A man who hides behind hired killers soon forgets what death is."
