@@StanleyMabonga Otto just has no respect for women look at how he always refers to alicent as “daughter”. Viserys and his First Wife raised Rhaynera with love, respect, and wanted her to be happy. Otto raised Alicent and only cared about duty and could careless about her happiness.

This is a fantastic take. I hadn’t thought about it that way but it makes so much sense. I remember thinking it was almost infantile the way he was curled up on her lap telling her about how he was bullied and he made a mistake because of it.

So discussing the show in step with the book, not jumping ahead.

Cole is the Leader of the Kingsguard, he he picks his assignments (and everyone else’s). If he was doing his job correctly, he would have transitioned Kingsguard protection from the Dowager Queen to the current Queen.

During their confrontation Ser Arryk asks him why a sworn protector has not been assigned to the Queen. It’s his duty as Lord Commander to assign sworn swords to members of the royal family who do not currently have them. He hasn’t even selected new Kingsguard to replace the ones who defected to Rhaenyra. There’s supposed to always be 7, and currently there are only 4. He can’t even do this job right and now he’s being promoted to Hand of the King 😂 He’s too busy banging Helaena’s mom to worry about putting anyone at her door. So yeah, still his fault.
