The bad guys are dumb, the cops are dumber. The girls are hot, mom's hotter. Overall an enjoyable, fun little flick. Definitely worth watching.

First, it's a movie. Of course they have to be steal-able. Second, that's what they were bypassing. That's why they had those little devices they were carrying. Fictionally of course they are way harder to really make. But if you could do what they were doing, you could easily steal new luxury cars all day long. Once it recognizes the code from the "key" it sees you as the owner and you are good to go.

If you're looking to see a 70 Dodge Charger, skip to the last 7 minutes. There are glimpses of a Charger throughout - but they are either 68 or 69. Glimpses are just the hood & a door. It's a pretty good flick - even if it isn't about the Charger at all.

I would love to be able to get away with it, but I'm not that lucky. I loved the movie

How did they not get arrested?

I know in 1980, you did not pay to qualify for a drivers license. A teacher in your school taught the classroom segment of which you had to pass a written test. Then pass the road test with that same teacher in the passenger seat (with a brake pedal on his side of the car too). The school did not charge you a dime, but you also had to do a road test with a state employee to actually get the license, and there may have been a small fee to get your license.

Not Thelma & Louise 1991 yeah... haven't "love story", haven't "humour"... A normal movie for one viewing!

So after so many car thefts, stealing a police car and being fugitives they don’t get arrested and don’t face any criminal charges whatsoever. The bad thing about Johnson productions movies is that they always contain some nonsense like this which for me destroys the whole movie. Clearly these movies are made for people who don’t engage their brains. And these days there are a lot of such people. Overall it's a 3/10 movie for me and I am being generous.
