The fact that you are the only video I can find how to do this, is wild. Thank you for making it. Have 3 trucks that my 2yo says "can't race, dada" bc of the axel. So I talked to my dad and we build something similar. Thanks.

Glad i was able to help. They also make a tool for spreading brake pads that you can cut a slot into and get to work as well

Ahhhh, the things we do for our kids ! My son loves these things and I’ve been wondering how the hell to take them apart and fix them when they break ! Very helpful

The plates are home Made, but the vice can be purchased at any hardware store or harbor freight. Just needs plates to bolt to your vice

I honestly never looked. I usually Just rob a really beat truck for the axle.

I use semi boiling water to remove everything

Nothing wrong with that. That always works too. That’s how i get some of the pain in the butt tires off of the wheels

How do you remove an axle that broke right at the wheel rim? I have a monster truck with same big white monster wheels you got there. I was hoping to fix it but not sure how to go about digging it out. Let me know. Thanks

I’m not sure how I’d go about that one, if the axle is flush I’d probably just use a new wheel from another truck. Either that or you need to drill it out

Drill press vice. Harbor Freight has cheap ones with removable jaws. Custom make your jig/spreader and bolt it on.

Did a search and Harbor Freight = "CENTRAL FORGE 4 In. Drill Press Vise". Home Depot has what looks like the same one just a diff name " Yost 4 In. Drill Press Vise" and it's cheaper. Haven't found the "plates" yet but just started looking. Thanks to Alternascape for pointing me in the right direction
