Got hired onto a type 2 crew in Idaho this summer. I'm unbelievably excited. So many people don't get to live their dreams but I do. Can't wait, won't stop till im a smokejumper.

Respect to the Granite Mountain Hotshots, 19 out of the 20 of them were killed in the Yarnel Hill Fire in 2013 near there home town

I am 15 and a volunteer Rangeland firefighter in Oregon. Both my parents are state police and I plan in following in their footsteps.

Thank you for making this! I’m currently 13 but I want to become a firefighter (most likely a hotshot) every video I’ve seen has been cool but this one is so raw! I’ve become obsessed with firefighting and everything that comes with it! If you have a volunteer department nearby, you should definitely get into it. It's the greatest feeling in the world. You may not be a "real" firefighter in some people's eyes but fuck em. If it weren't for volunteers, we'd be a huge problem on our hands.
